Super Bowl food...what's everyone doing?
Here in Indy, my friend and his wife and three kids are coming over, and we're cooking out steaks on the grill, macaroni & cheese and corn on the side, and chips and cream cheese/salsa dip. To drink, we have Smirnoff Ice and Smirnoff Raw Tea for the big kids, and soda, Kool-Aid and Hi-C for the other kids.

My wife was supposed to make something for dinner before she went to work but she's pissed at me and chose not to. Looks like I'm ordering a pizza.

Studying.....this blows.
![]() I have a HUUUUGE exam monday afternoon, so instead of cheering against CHI and enjoying a nice steak, I will be studying. I'll probably have.....stir fry or a sandwhich...something I can just pickup. -p Last edited by pedagogue; 02-04-07 at 02:18 PM. |

For the first time in years, I'm not cooking. I traveled home from meetings just yesterday so, with a little planning, I'm having the party catered!
It is one of those deals where my wife works with a guy that knows a guy. We have used him before. He does not do gourmet food, but rather solid good stuff, delivered hot and ready to go. He also provides those professional water bath things that you put heat under and keeps everything warm. We ordered fajitas. Both chicken and steak. Figured good finger foods. He provides also chips, salsa, re fried beans and all he fixings. It ran about $8.00 per person so for our group about $125, which I thought was reasonable. Probably not much more then what I would have spent on a Costco/Sam's run to buy it all and do it myself. Will be interesting to see how it all works out. I think it will be great since I or friends don't have to do any cooking and only have to rinse everything out, don't have to fully clean anything! I have some snack stuff. I have a movie theater popcorn maker, so I'll make popcorn and I have several "bar snacks" (pretzels, peanuts, etc). Just got back from the liquor store and restocked, Fat Tire Bass Sam Adams Winter Pyramid Snow Cap Old Speckled Hen Think I'm in good shape |

Since I can't figure out how to do my HW, I won't be studying.
I was going to grill brats or steaks, but since the temp is 3 (but feels like -15) I don't really feel like doing that. My buddy is bringin over chicken winfs and jello shots. Having some chips and guac., veggis, and plenty of booze.

No grill in Manhattan.
Chips, salsa (chipotle!), hummus/pita, blister peanuts, air-popped popcorn, pizza, sushi platter, wings. And Stella on tap, Yuengling black&tan, PBR, whatever wine and mixed drinks anyone wants (and Cabo Wabo T in the freezer, Woodford Reserve in the fridge).

Doing easy stuff.
Chips and dip. A veggie tray and cold cuts on nice bakery rolls.

Nothing out of the ordinary. I did buy some Herr's tortilla chips which I usually don't get.
I was just at the supermarket and each checkout line was 4-5 carts deep. (Thankfully, this Safeway doesn't have any of that bullshit "Check Your Own Ass Out" lines plus they have baggers at each line). One guy asked if I was buying Superb Owl food. I had coffee creamer, palak paneer, basil, and yogurt. Sure, buddy. ![]() |

It's just going to be myself and my bf. He's on Atkins right now so he's having shrimp with some weird mayo/horseradish dip. I'll have my shrimp with some regular cocktail sause.

I used to love giving Super Bowl parties when I was in a relationship. I hate football, but I absolutely LOVE cooking and giving parties.

We were going to have a party - but both couples we invited over bowed out - so it's just Jan and me.
We went from something more elaborate to just some cooked lamb and some stuffed grape leaves. Yeah, sounds sort of Greek, but it's what we have.
