The clerk and the expired sale tag.

I went to a store today. Big day for me. I bought nothing other than an impulse item in the line and a pop. My impulse item said 3 for $1. It rang up as $.59. No biggie, but I tell the lady that the sale tag on it says 3 for $1 or .34 each. She sees the tag, and says, "it rings up as $.59."

I say, "yes, it appears it does, but your tag says different."

She goes over to the tag, comes back and says, "that should have been taken down yesterday." However, she didn't remove it when she saw it. Normally in these situations, they take the tag down and give me the discount price because they mistakenly left it up. But she just stares at me. I finally say, "Okay, I'll pay the extra 15 cents if you take down the tag now. She looks at me like I am crazy...like she doesn't understand why she would take it down. I finally say, "There is no point in leaving it up until the next time the sale comes around as you will just confuse people in the meantime." She finally removes the tag, but leaved up the other 10 tags that also expired yesterday. All the stuff was behind the counter so there was no way I could have taken it off for her.

What a stupid person. Let's have her killed.

You would have been within your rights to demand the sale price. You should have held strong for the extra 77 cents.

You should have taken it down and gave it to her and then demanded the item for free for doing her job for her.

Yeah but Dave is living large now. Remember that $60 deposit at the bank or whatever it was?

Where is this store that leaves its sale signs up all the time? We want to all go shop there, and witness the stupid checkout chick.

You got taken by The Man.

I was about to say, you were in the presence of a Pacific Northwest Sales Associate. Why do you think I don't shop in SW Washington.

I can say with absolute certainty that this is the first sensible thing you've ever posted here.

Normally I wouldn't, but I just wanted to leave. It also looked obvious that she did not know how to put in a different price, so I would end up waiting for the manager, etc.

This was at a Bi-Mart. Now employee owned. Expect it to go under.

kvrdave wipes his ass with $100 bills he took from the hands of starving old ladies on his properties. A few cents won't be missed.

If the sale was 3 for $1, maybe you had to buy 3 to get the discount
