What's your favorite season
Now that we're entering summer i thought i'd ask the question. The votes might be biased toward Summer since we're entering it and long awaiting it (in fact asking the question before any oncoming season is the same), however it's always been my favorite season, just so much carefree and adventurous times, not to mention that during the school years it was all vacation time so that has lots of good memories for youth. However, i'm not some warm-loving ninny, my second favorite is winter not only for the holidays but because it has my birthday and i like the weather since i was born in the north. Spring and Autumn seem like transitional seasons but everyone has a favorite.

Spring lasts about 3 and a half days around here, and I don't even know what Autumn is. From what I've seen of Spring in its limited exposure and what friends tell me it's like in other places, I'll go with that. Honestly, though, I like both Summer and Winter quite a bit too. During the Summer, I love how it doesn't get dark until 9pm so I can easily exercise outside after work; and during the Winter, I love to open up the windows and get cold air circulating through my home. Also, I save on utilities during the Winter, which is always nice.

Love summer, even though it's hot as hell in FL. Afternoon T-Storms, it stays light late and no snowbirds, so the commute to work is a dream.

For years it was Autumn, but the last two or three years my preference has gradually changed to Spring. Shaking off the cold and watching things bloom.

We have roughly 9 months of hot summer, 2 months of mild summer, and MAYBE 1 month of mild winter.
Everything else is non-existent. However, I love the fall in other states.

Let's not even get into the discussion of snow. Back in 1999, we had so much snow that the public schools (which are notorious for keeping the schools OPEN) was closed for 4 days after winter break. It's very rare that the schools are closed for one day, much less 4. There was so much snow the plow trucks couldn't get to all the streets. Last edited by ChiTownAbs, Inc; 05-14-06 at 07:14 AM. |

When I was living in Hawaii, didn't matter - all the seasons were pretty much the same. But with seasons, I love the autumn - nothing beats all the leaves changing color.

I'd say Summer is probably my least favorite as I hate the crazy heat and humidity we can get around here. Don't know which is my actual favorite though.

Winter . . . love cold weather . . . love snow.
Autumn is a close second.

If I may use the lyric from "Girl for all Seasons" from that beloved movie Grease 2 as my answer:
I'll be yours in summer, when we're playin' in the sand. We'll spend the day together, makin' love and gettin' tanned. And on the beach at sunset, when we're walking hand in hand.

I like having 4 distinct seasons, however, after about a month into 1 season, I'd usually prefer to be in the next season.

I've lived in a variety of climes, and I still prefer winter. The cold still air, the promise of snow, and the stark beauty of denuded trees always remind me of some of the happiest parts of my youth.

We don't really have 4 seasons in Tampa. It's cool, hot, and hotter. I think I would prefer fall though, but I do hate when it gets dark early.
