Hey look! Another eBay thread....

Ten days ago, an auction of mine closed with only one bidder. He had a pretty low number of feedbacks, but they were all positive. None since September '04, however. I sent the payment total and the auction required Paypal only payment.

I didn't hear anything over the whole weekend and figured I wasn't going to. Monday morning, he sends me an email and states he was out for the weekend and would pay tomorrow. Fine. Later that day, "I'm waiting for funds to clear my bank and it should be first thing in the morning".

Tuesday comes, no payment. Wednesday arrives and I get the same thing: "problem with my bank, will pay Thursday". Again, Thursday comes, no payment.

I sent him a deadline email Friday stating payment must be received today (Monday) by Noon CST, which is a very generous 10 day payment window. I submitted an Unpaid Item Dispute through eBay this morning. I haven't heard from this guy since last Wednesday.

I really want to relist this auction today (it's in the $450-$500 range). I know I have to wait 7 days before my fees can be refunded through eBay, but can I relist the item immediately since my deadline has passed? Or do I really have to wait 7 days until this goes through the dispute process?

Re-list it. If he then pays, refuse to sell to him or pull the auction.

Immediate Payment auction my friend. best way to avoid that crap. Just set your price and that's that.

As far as your current situation, I would definitely relist now. Also don't forget to add this loser to your blocked bidders list.

AFAIK there's no Ebay policy keeping you from relisting as soon as you want.

Good luck.

Based on the number of bids (one ), I'm thinking you're right. Buy it Now as the only option and immediate payment required.

I think the only reason you need to wait is to get your Final Value Fee back from the first auction and to put a strike against his record.
