I have been nominated for a community service award. HAHAHAHAHAHA

Anyway, I have to attend a banquet tomorrow night and see if I win. I am hoping that amount of time spent on the Other Forum is part of the formula to see who wins. If it is, I will walk away with it.

Your community has its standards, mine has its own.

Have a few beers before (make wife drive) to settle your nerves. Do you have your speech written?

I don't think that last part is necessary where he's from.

I got Numanoid to nominate me. Apparently the Jaycees do this every year (and have) and have awards for best educator, etc. etc. I've never really done anything with the Jaycees, and don't know much about them.

Is it an award for "Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Excellence"?

What will you get if you win? A bronze plaque or one of those big-ass crystal bowl?

I won a community service award my senior year in high school (770 students in my class) and I don't have a clue why it was given to me. They gave me the plaque in front of the whole student body.

That reminds me,
Spoiler:
Jaycee F. Leghorn needs another $50 "donation" to secure his vote. That should put you over the top.

What exactly did you do to earn this nomination?

I'm curious.

You know those police stings where they send out notices to people with outstanding warrants that they've been nominated for, or won, an "award" or contest, and when the people get there to collect the police move in and arrest them?

I'm just sayin'.

I was thinking of that scenario too...

"Where's my free boat?"
"You're under arrest."
"Yeah, but where's my free boat?"
