I am applying for a job in Walla Walla WA I have a question for the people there.
The salary range there is 42,999 to 52,500. Its a federal position so I would have federal benefits. Can a person find a nice ranch house in a good area between 110,000 to 160,000. I know about realtor.com and all that but that doesn't tell me where the good areas are. I may have 20% down as well. What are the schools like around there. Is this close to where Geoff lives so I can crack a beer with him or does he have body guards and high security so he is unreachable.

Apparently they have a "members club" type discount store for folks with diverse orientations.

i strongly suggest researching or visiting Walla Walla before accepting this job. It's in the middle of nowhere. But that could be fantastic for a ranch house.

You must be going to work at the federal prison?
Walla Walla is a fine area, and growing nicely. From there you can probably live in College Place which is very reasonable, and for whatever reason gets all the 7th Day Adventists to retire there. But that is a good salary for the area and you can be quite comfortable. Plus, you are close enough to Pullman to enjoy the college town atmosphere and Pac10 football. And it isn't nearly the middle of nowhere like I am ![]()

I'm from Walla Walla (and fellow member "jam master Jay" lives there right now). If you want you can email me any question you might have. I'm not sure if I can answer them all. And by the way Geoff/Portland isn't too close, it's four hours away.
