My grandmother just died

She was great old lady and lived to 95. Stereotypical little old italian lady 4'11". She's been in a nursing home for over 8 years now. Things have been pretty good for her up until a few months ago, then you could just watch her going downhill. In one way it is really a relief but it's still tough to lose someone like that. My fondest memories were up until her ending up in the home, my barber was near her house, so I would go get a haircut and go to her house for breakfast. That was well into my 30's. She also taught my fiance', now my wife, who is Polish and Irish how to make real Italian sauce.

I'll miss you gram. At least now you'll be with Grandpa again.

Sorry to hear about that Jim. My grandmother has been staying with us for a week while her house is being remodeled. I realize that she won't be around very long, so I've been hanging out with her, making her meals, and just talking.

So sorry for your loss Jim! Nice memories are the best! I still try to recreate a few now and then in regards to my grandmother, as she was quite the cook as well.

Take care..

Today is the wake, tomorrow morning is the funeral. At least she is at peace now and not suffering.

Bummer. Would a "She's dead, Jim" joke be pushing it?
