Yeah part of the table may just be a mirror or something.
The coin is slight of hand - each hand has a coin in in between his fingers. The salt ??? The girl is an accomplice - but is the salt shaker collapsible? or something. |

but where does the salt under the table go?? It would have to be a huge mirror so you wouldnt see the seams but the front and back have no mirror because his arm passes the plane as well as her arm with no reflection.

glass is a liquid, solids can pass through liquid.

I've seen a similar trick with a storefront window. (EDIT: I just took a quick look at the MindFreak clip, and it looks like the same thing). I'm guessing the same idea goes here.
That table has a "trick" countertop. In the glass, theres a hole at a specific spot. In fact, in a few scenes you can see this strange looking circle further up the table (in line with where the salt shaker comes through). Some assistant (or maybe even the magician himself) is "sliding" a portion of the countertop back and forth to position or hide the hole as necessary. I'm not exactly sure how the countertop works, as you can see some cigarettes on the table as well that DON'T move, but I'm guessing it's some kind of dual-layered glass top... ... not entirely sure on this whole solution, but it's a good bet it's along the same lines... |

The coin is simple sleight of hand. The salt is advanced sleight of hand.

LOL...I've worked in magic my whole life. I have also worked with members of David Copperfield's team. If you want to be shocked...go watch some of his 'specials' from the 80's. Think about where we were technologically back then and where we are now...then watch his specials and think about what my predecessors did, in terms of engineering, back then. It is truly amazing.

The magician's name is Cyril and there's a lot of clips of his tricks floating around. The link above is actually only part of the segment. If you go to http://youtube.com/results.php?searc...=Search+Videos, the complete trick is the 2nd clip that shows up, and the continuation is fairly impressive. There's also some more interspersed with other magicians at http://www.castpost.com/search.php?t=Magic . The ones that feature him are flying magic 2, Chinatown magic, Cyril get into the box, Glass card magic, Tea magic, Hamburger magic, and Grandpa magic. Polo candy, Take card from window, Coin and salt magic, and Shadow magic break chopstick are him as well, but are the same clips that can be seen at youtube, which I think has better video quality. My personal favorites are the hamburger and the Chinatown trick. Here's a short article about him.
