Help me help my sister find a used car

My sis just moved to L.A. and needs a car. She's looking to spend $5000 max with everything included (titles, tags, taxes, etc). I was thinking she should go for a used Honda Civic. But I'm not sure if anything that will run reliably will go for under $5 grand. Anyone got any suggestions on places to look online? I've only checked e-bay so far and the pickings are slim.

I don't think a reliable civic would go for under 5k either. Maybe something smaller like an accord or corolla.

Look for a used Hyundai with low miles. 10 year, 10k warranty. For $5k she shouldn't be worried about "status", or she'll throw that money away.

Actually the civic is smaller than the accord.

i thought the 10 year warranty was not transferable?

Oh, she's not worried about status at all. She'd drive a golf cart on the highway if it were legal. I was the one pressing for her to try to find a civic, just because I figured it'd save her time, money, and headaches later on for maintenance issues. Unfortunately, she doesn't drive stick so that looks to be about a $500-1000 difference.

I have no idea, I assumed it was. OP, call the Hyundai dealer!
