Do anything boneheaded this weekend? I screwed up making kool-aid.

Wife requested Kool-aid for some reason, so I bought a few packs and a new bag-o-sugar. I didn't bother with the instructions, cause, my gosh, it's Kool-aid. It's like riding a bicycle.

So I filled up the ~2 qt. pitcher, and added the two cups of sugar, and...

First cup: Boy, this stuff is good!

Second cup: It is a little sweet though...

Third cup: It's like the bottom of a snowcone, only without the ice.

The first batch went pretty quickly, but I noticed there was some sugar at the bottom. I thought maybe I just hadn't stirred good enough. So I tried to factor in the remaining sugar at the bottom, and only added like a cup and a half of sugar in the second batch. Still, a nice thick layer of undissolved sugar at the bottom, no matter how hard I stirred.

So I glance at the package.

Oooooh.... Only ONE cup of sugar.

I'll try harder the next time...

Who hasn't had problems making Kool-Aid. I remember on early morning after some drinking I thought "I'll make some kool-aid." I'm much lazier than you so I used the kind that already has the sugar mixed in. So I grabbed a glass then put in a couple of spoonfulls added the milk and stirred it. Luckily before I drank it I remembered that you're supposed to add water and not milk. This is just an example why I shouldn't be try to do things before noon.

In Utah, you don't mess up making the Kool-Aid. And whatever you do, if you are in Utahan's kitchen, don't reach for the "Special Apocalypse Mix".

In Utah, the Kool-Aid packages have vintages, not "use by" dates as I recall.

When in Acapulco for Spring Break we thought we'd buy some lemonaide for the girls to mix with vodka. After quite the time trying to find this in the Super Wal Mart all we could find was kool aid lemonaide, or maybe just yellow kool aide. Anyway none of us apparantly had made cool aide before b/c we figured you just mixed it from the package. We made some up, poured in some vodka, tasted it and almost puked. Then we looked and saw we needed to add sugar so it was all a waste :-(. Still plenty of other booze to drink though :-)

We buy the premixed powder (koolaid + sugar) and just add water and shake like crazy. My wife calls it husband-proof.

Kool-Aid is gross, it's artifical colors and flavors topped off with a bunch of white sugar. Yuck. No thanks, I'll stick with my diet coke.

Yeah, I've screwed up kool-aid before too. Around midnight, when everyone was still looking a little too lively, I realized I'd totally forgot to add the cynanide. The rest of the cult never forgave me.

I registered for home delivery of the Chicago Tribune, and put in the wrong street address. I caught it this morning, my excuse is that it was about 4am and their address lines are a little complicated (I put in my town name as my street).
