…shhhh! ever snuck in somewhere undetected?
(It'd be like the perfect sneak if no one viewed or replied to this thread...
)Well, apart from those close to a hundred times (as a young kid & teenager) at the movies, especially at the Pantages Theater when it was still just a rather large movie theater (but still very beautiful), or the Egyptian, or the Chinese, or the Vogue (which is now Disney's "El Capitan"), or those many concerts at the Hollywood Bowl or Greek Theater with my pals (out here in Los Angeles)... You see… When we had nothing better to do (way back before there was an Other Forum), we'd sometimes hang out near the backside of theaters, and when folks would leave by the side exits, we'd just stop the door just before it closed and slip in that way. Sometimes when we got there, the doors were just open, as if they were waitin' for us, or they just didn't close all the way, or they'd get caught on those really thick curtains they use to cover the exit doors to block the sunlight from blinding the Hell outta unsuspecting folks (or even worse: literally killing the various neighborhood vampires) in the theater, if it was a matinee. (For those of you that may not know: Rumor has it the Vampires would usually sneak in before dawn and leave after dusk, that is, of course, unless they got a surprise "BLAST 'O SUNLIGHT" (sometime during the daylight hours), and thus, abruptly ending their free movie days forever. Being the cause of many such mishaps, I submit this "Truth is Stranger than Fiction" addition to my story, just in case some of you out there were wondering if I was pullin' yer leg or just making this suff up…) Then there were those many great concerts at the Greek Theater & the Hollywood Bowl, but it wasn't really like "sneakin' in" to those because we'd just climb up (or down) the hill (or sometimes just hang out in the trees) behind the seats, and although the performers were far away at the Bowl (and looked like ants, but not so small at the Greek), we could always hear everything in a most pleasing & rocking way. ...that's about it! OH! There was this one other time when I was sixteen, and this really foxy chick at an afternoon party (that I found out that very day really liked me a lot for a long time, and let me tell ya, I could hardly believe it because she was so foxy) started being all kissy & touchy on me, but after just one half of a (12 oz.) beer she got really silly and serious, and well, as much as I wanted to "sneak in" (with my impeccable, sneakful past record), and as much as she wanted me to, I just couldn't bring myself to do it, because for one reason or another I felt it just wasn't the right thing to do, with her being all drunkish and silly and wiggly.) HEY!!! ![]() Someone had to protect her most precious virtue, and that someone was me! & ![]() (But that doesn't mean we didn't make out very hard & very long, and do the rolley poley and the tumbly rumbly most of the afternoon or whatnot.) So, after we did pretty much all we could do (without committing the actual, "The Sneakance"), I ended up baby sittin' her the rest of the party, and eventually walked her home, way up there on Nichol's Canyon (also out here in Los Angeles) just to make sure she was safe and all. Her Father was very well pleased, and her entire family made me feel most welcomed. ![]() (She had an incredibly awesome house!) ...and guess what? The next day when I saw her at school, she thanked me (like I was her "Hero" or something right there in front of all my pals), and that was the beginning of one of my very first great relationships! -Paul Last edited by The Edit King; 08-07-05 at 02:15 PM. |

Other than sneaking over to a friends house or into the storeroom to check out Christmas presents, I never did much sneaking in. My friends and I allways talked about sneaking into movies, but we never did. We did sneak in all kind of food and drink, though. Got a whole pizza in once.
BTW, welcome back THEEK!

When I was 17 I use to sneak into Casinos that were 18+. For the first 2 or 3 times I never got carded, but security got a little tighter. I was carded after about 2 hours inside the casino, and of course I'm not going to show them my California I.D. so I gave them my school I.D. Luckily they had no proof I was under 18 and I had no proof I was over 18, so they let me keep my chips and I was able to cash out without any trouble.
Now adays all the Casinos around here are 21 and over now, and I'm only 20 where as all of my friends are 21. So I get carded before I even get inside, and I just show them my I.D. and sometimes they don't even bother looking at it and just say ok and let me in, but the other times I get screwed over and I'm stuck doing nothing in the car while they're all gambling. I once was able to sneak into my friends apartment and make it look like he was robbed. I wish I go that on tape.... Last edited by U6C84; 08-06-05 at 06:20 PM. |

Hey now, THEEK! Nice to see you back.
I've done a lot of sneaking in my time. When I was going to high school in Niagara On The Lake, me and a group of friends used to routinely sneak into Fort George late at night to play war games. That was a blast. While traveling once, I managed to get up into the pilot's lounge at the Toronto airport. It was during Christmas, and I just fallowed a couple of stewardess into the employee elevator. I was pretending that I was flying home from college and that my father was pilot for West Jet. No one said anything though, I guess I looked the part convincingly enough and got to enjoy free coffee and muffins. I managed to sneak into the studio last summer when Terry Gilliam was filming a movie in town. When they were filming, I had the urge to drop my pants and run into the shot, thinking I might wind up on the DVD blooper reel, but thought better of it.

Welcome back, TEK!
I've sneaked into movies a few times. Not often, but once or twice. In college, there were these steam tunnels that ran all under the school grounds. We used to sneak in those and go exploring. Some of my friends got caught once, but I never did. One time, my wife and I sneaked into a dog show. We didn't mean to -- we wanted to check out the show, but we weren't sure where the entrance was. We were looking for the place to buy tickets, went up an escalator and through a door and suddenly, we were in the show. It was kind of lame and I think we only wound up staying 10 minutes.

glad to see your alive and well...
on topic, i snuck out of a friends house to shoot out street lamps when i was a kid. we were crossing the street when a cop saw us holding an air rifle...we ran, tossed the gun in a ditch, and made it home just fine....pillows and a basketball still safely tucked into our sheets...we retrieved the gun the following day

Some friends and I used to sneak into our high school late at night and run around the halls and jump around on the port-a-pits in the gym. Technically it wasn't "breaking in" since there was a window that was always open on the ground level. We never got caught, so there's the "undetected" part.
BTW, Paul...they locked my "Threads of the Edit King" thread, so I can't add any new ones. ![]() In time, I'm sure we'll have a Part II. |

I always wanted to try and sneak into a movie theatre (especially when I was a kid and wanted to try and see a "naughty" R-rated film) but was too chicken.

I'm no good at sneaking into places. I once got into Price Club without a card, but couldn't buy anything.

Dress nice. Carry a clipboard, be confident and act like you are suppose to be there and you can pretty much sneak into any place.
