Neighborhood Watch?

What all goes into being part of a neighborhood watch? What exactly do you do? Walk around looking for trouble makers. I have visions of that one group that went nuts on Babylon 5 and hope it is not like that. You know like reporting that your neighbor bought a muslim book at the bookstore. And walking around in uniforms that look like something the SS would wear.

Neighborhood Watch in the US is like this: You watch a crime in progress.

If you see a bunch of teenage boys hanging around a street corner and it's nite time.
You call police.

Our neighborhood watch consists of putting up signs with eyes on them, and trimming bushes that block the view from nosy old ladies windows.

I tried trimming some bushes once. They just got mad at me for taking to much off.

Well, I keep an eye & an ear out for evil-doers, and then go downstairs (pop the eye back in, and slap that ear back on the side of my head with some spit) and confront them by saying something like...

"HEY!!! Can I help you? BECAUSE WE DON'T TAKE KINDLY TO STRANGERS 'ROUND HERE!!!

It's worked for 20 somethin' years!

(No break-ins, theft, etc...Well, except for this one neighbor fellow who insisted on leaving his bike unlocked, and was always tellin' everyone how he trusted everybody, and I told him, "You better lock that", and he said I was too uptight & paranoid, but guess what? Within that month, it was stolen. )

Can't (and don't) waste my time tryin' to protect the willingly irresponsible.

Tek!
