Is it weird that my sons like Aqua?

So I wake up this morning to the sound of Aqua.
Two of my sons are jumping on the bed singing “I’m a Barbie girl”. OK so I’m not really concerned but my hubby says they are totally going to be teh gay. Out of the hundreds of CD’s in my house why Aqua. I am definitely getting this on tape so I can embarrass the heck out of them in the future. Is it strange that my six year old boys favorite song is Barbie girl?

They are either gay or Danish.

I'm not sure which is worse.

I'm gay and I hate that song.

Your son is actually a satanist. Get help immediately.

I'd be more concerned if they proclaim appreciation of fuchsia or mauve...

The singer is pretty cute:

Let's just assume that is the source of their interest, and never speak of this again.

Didn't you say in another thread that Agua makes you throw up? If so, are you sure he's really your son?

So, hold on...

You're concerned that they like a terrible, horrible CD that... you... own?

Take the kids and move out, leave the CD. Then burn the house. Then burn the ashes again. Then burn whatever burned the ashes and send everything into the heart of the sun.

What's wrong with you?

Who actually owns Aqua?

Please head over to the Music Forum and find some good bands for your children, before it's too late.

The Bus would recommend The Who, but no songs in particular!

Clearly TracerBullet and wendersfan need to either trade musical tastes or trade penises.

The CD is mine I was probably around 19 when it came out. Plus I'm a girl.

I'll admit that I really like that Aqua CD. The music is fun and happy, and it always puts me in a good mood. It makes sense to me that it is the sort of stuff that kids would like.

I don't think it's strange or faggy at all.

But the videotaping is a perfect idea.

I own both the Aqua CDs and I've made most of their songs into ringtones for my phone. People that work for me used to bitch about Aqua when I would bring in the CDs but even they have to admit that when our kitchen is getting pounded during a dinner rush the upbeat music can really help you move a bit faster.

The female lead singer from the band went on to make another CD. It must not of sold well because the website for it hasn't been updated in ages but it was kinda the same style of music but not as sickly sweet.

My musical tastes are quite catholic. There's literally no genre of music I'm familiar with that I don't like at least some examples of it. Besides, "Barbie Girl" is a cute, catchy tune. It's not exactly something I'd listen to every day, but it's fine "driving with the top down" music, as is "School Days" by Chuck Berry and the first movement of Beethoven's Pastorale Symphony...
