Ferris Bueller's 30th Anniversary Soundtrack
There's a 30th Anniversary of FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF soundtrack that was recently released.
It's not bad if anyone is a fan of the movie.

I remember looking for a soundtrack album right after first seeing the movie, and being amazed that there wasn't one. Not sure if I'd shell out for it now though as I've already got most of those songs on other albums.

Re: Ferris Bueller's 30th Anniversary Soundtrack
In the commentary for Ferris, John Hughes says the studio and A AND M records really wanted a soundtrack. He sais no because he thought there would be only a few songs kids would actually want to own and the rest they could find on their parents old records. He thought of it as a needless cash grab. Now why don't they just release a bluray with ALL the deleted scenes from Ferris. Who subplots were cut, even his little sister and brother were cut out of the movie. I was at a screen and a few actors and crew from the movie were there and the film editor named Paul talked about all the deleted scenes and subplots that they deleted ....instead all they give us is the same recycled disc...minus the commentary...

I remember that comment now- if John Hughes didn't want one to come out then that makes sense.

Strange that John Hughes felt that way. A lot of good music is featured in the film and many of the tunes are not at all easy to track down.
