Wait, you can't even purchase the item for FULL asking price? That's insane. You can even do that on eBay if your BO is rejected. What is the point of that?

Here's their "make an offer" terms:
How To Make An Offer
When an item listed in the Marketplace has a 'Make Offer' button it means the seller is willing to consider offers on that item.
How to make an offer:
From the release page, click on the "Make Offer" button from the "Make Offer/Details" page.
Enter the offer amount.
Select the "Submit Offer" button.
After an offer is made:
The seller has 5 days to accept or decline the offer.
If the offer is accepted it will be converted to an order at the accepted offer price and both buyer and seller receive order/purchase confirmation as with a normal order.
If the offer is declined, or not responded to, the person who made the offer will be sent an automated message informing them the offer was declined.
Rules:
A single buyer can only make 1 offer per item.
If a seller re-lists an item for sale at a different price a buyer that was previously declined can opt to make a new offer.
There can be multiple offers by different buyers on a single item at any given time.
While an offer is pending (not accepted) on an item that item may still be purchased by any buyer in the Marketplace.
Any questions regarding the item should be asked before making an offer.

This year's RSD was kinda shitty with the releases (compared to other years).
Though, there was one release that, for me, is one of my all time most wanted vinyls, but of course, it was for RSD in the UK only, no US release. I was able to snag it from a seller on amazon though, so it worked out.
Anyway, it's Ocean Colour Scene's 1st album (technically their 2nd, but they've disowned their actual first album) Moseley Shoals.
This is the first time it's had a vinyl release since the album's original release more than 20 years ago (original release, used, goes for around $120). This RSD reissue on red vinyl, and while it's not a double-album, they put this out on two vinyl discs, so they can have it at 45 rpm instead of 33 and have it be of a higher quality, basically, a special vinyl release done right!
If you're not familiar with this band/album, and like Brit-Rock, check it out!

There were 6 things I wanted. I was able to get 3 on Record Store Day around 3PM and got the other 3 on ebay. 1 under list price and 2 at list price.
Luckily my tastes don't normally run to the stuff that's super rare and expensive.

I picked up Iron Maiden, the two Cheap Trick releases, and the Rob Zombie single that was all I was really interested in this year

Damn, this was one of the most expensive Recrd Store Days for me yet.
Monkees - Original Albums Box Set (all albums on different colored vinyl)
Monkees - Logo Picture Disc single
Cheap Trick - Found New Parts EP
Cheap Trick - Complete At Budokan
Matthew Sweet - Goodfriend
Soul Asylum - Grave Dancers Union
Across The Universe - Soundtrack
The Blacklist - Soundtrack
Brian Fallon - Georgia EP
Stephan Jenkins - Live At Aomeba Records EP
...and one that wasn't on the "official list" but was one of my favorite pick ups of the day...
Raw Power: A Tribute To Iggy and The Stooges EP - a live Seattle all-star tribute featuring Mark Arm from Mudhoney, Mike McCready from Pearl Jam, Barrett Martin from the Screaning Trees and Duff McKagan from Guns N' Roses.

I think this one may have actually been one of those "pre-release" titles instead of an "Exclusive", unlike the 10" they also had out for RSD. In that case, you can count on more coming out in the next six months, or so. The sound is as good the other Cheap Trick vinyl re-releases that have come out in the last few years. If I wasn't something of a Trick completeist, I probably wouldn't even have bought it, as I already have the same thing as part of the CD/DVD delexue combo pack that came out some years back, plus the stand alone double CD that came out a couple of years before that, and multiple versions of the original single album release in various formats. It was cool to get this on vinyl, but it was hardly essential. One other thing of note, it's only on 150gram and not 180gram vinyl, too.

Oh, so the other Budokan songs have already been released? (I suppose I could use Google to find this information)
I'm not a Cheap Trick completist like you are, but I certainly like a lot of their songs. And no, not just Surrender and I Want You to Want Me. Some of my favorites are California Man and Southern Girls (on this release) and later songs like Baby Loves to Rock and Dream Police. Except with Dream Police I sing along like Damone in Fast Times or Apu from The Simpsons, depending on my mood.

Yeah! Went to Record City today, and there was a rack of RSD discs. Got the Cheap Trick Budokan record (could have gotten the Found New Parts EP too, but I was already spending a lot with Budokan and the reissue of Bowie's Hunky Dory they had). Store owner Graham says it sounds great and I'll love it.

Where did this thread come from? Cross posted from the Vinyl thread.
Record Store Day - Arrived at first location at 8:30 to avoid the initial rush. Got:
Deerhoof - Offend Maggie
Flaming Lips CD and comic
New PJ Harvey LP (non-RSD)
Went to next place that opened at 9, got:
Grateful Dead box set
Husker Du 7"
Went to the final and best place 90 minutes after they opened, got:
Phish - Hoist (the only thing I REALLY wanted and I got the last one seriously bumming out the guy behind me)
The Bevis Frond - Inner Marsh
Regina Spektor - Soviet Kitsch
Son Volt live LP
Jay Farrar - Sebastopol
The Feelies - Uncovered
2 of those Side by Side 7"'s
While there, I also got a nice, clean original copy of The Ramones first album. I had an old beater.
The only thing I didn't get was the other Bevis Frond LP (I ordered it online from BullMoose) and the Mac Demarco demos. All in all, a good day.

Re: Record Store Day, Sat April 16, 2016
So what's the real purpose of this day? Because it seems that Record Store Day is making people hate the event and the stores due to all the people who simply show up to buy stuff to sell on eBay. It seems that this day is attracting more negative feelings than actually helping small record store bring more business in the long term.
That's what it always has been and is the purpose of said event.
