Post a song you like or love.

OK, so there's an ages-old thread that goes something like "Post a song you love...", but I found that a bit too limiting.
Here you can post songs you merely like or songs you love. All are welcome. They can be rare or famous, whatever.

I'll start with The Call's "Scene Beyond Dreams", which I was listening to on Spotify and felt it was a good fit for such a thread. It's a resonant anthem with powerful, dramatic vocals.

Re: Post a song you like or love.

Just happened upon another one that fits this thread's parameters. Camel's pleasant, lyrical "City Life":

Great forgotten new wave track. The Quake in San Francisco played this a lot, and my parents would've killed me if they'd ever heard this.

Re: Post a song you like or love.

Here's a song I heard for the first time in eons while at a restaurant last weekend. But first a little back-story :
This was a song I was generally aware of since it came out and was a minor FM Radio hit around 1981. I never really gave it much thought until it was covered by Howard Jones at a concert I attended in college (I know, the Eighties). Anyways, before he covered it, he explained what the song is about. He explained that it's a song told from the point of view of a ten-year old boy in the 1950s who went to the World's Fair and was so excited after seeing their "Vision of the Future" which depicted what the world might look like by 1976 (the Bicentennial must have been to them like the Year 2000 was to us growing up). His overly optimistic view of what the future would hold is the point of the song. Knowing and understanding that, I fell in love with this song.
(The cryptic title I.G.Y. refers to International Geophysical Year which was a scientific project that ran from 1957-1958)

The Crystals themselves were nothing to sneeze at.

Back in the 90s, I used to think the singer was the hottest girl on the planet. The song is great too.

Here's a song I like a lot. This Mortal Coil's "'Til I Gain Control Again".
