Are you freaking kidding? What news do you watch? Do you have social media? All they are talking about is Miley Cyrus.

The VMAs have been irrelevant for like 15 years, at the very least.

I mean...that is fortunate... But still... I've seen so many articles posted today about it.

I don't hate myself enough to watch the MTV VMA's. Did Christopher Nolan win anything?

I recorded it. The highlights were when Kanye West announced he was running for president in 2020, Nicki Minaj called Miley a bitch for some reason, and Miley flashed one of her tits for a fraction of a second.

The only music that didn't suck was a Taco Bell ad featuring the Ramones.

How many years have the VMAs been on for?
That's how many years they've been irrelevant.

Re: MTV VMA's 2015...anyone watch?

OK, so I haven't watched any MTV awards shows in at least 15 years now. Was bored tonight, and decided to skim through it to see if there was anything interesting. I seriously feel bad for the generation of people who have grown up to this music. It is all so bad, unremarkable, and the 'artists' have no charm or talent. 10 years from now it will all be insignificant and forgotten. There will be no 'classic' music from this era at all. Between the 'bleeps' every 15 seconds, all of the pot references, and Miley Cyrus' performance at the end where everyone was wearing thongs was all classless.
Anyway, I edited up a quick video of Kanye's 'speech'. Enjoy!

With a backlog of movies I don't have time to watch that garbage.

BTW, I'm a musician and I have never seen any of them.

Re: MTV VMA's 2015...anyone watch?

I recorded it and watched most of it. It wasn't that bad, and I actually liked a few of the performances, The Weeknd, Taylor Swift & Nicki Minaj together and ASAP Rocky with 21 Pilots. Tori Kelly was very very good.

Bad parts, having to listen to Miley Cyrus host and Kanye West ramble on for 5 minutes when he got the Vanguard award.

Yeah, the above post above yours is wrong. While a lot of it will fade, Weeknd is good and Taylor Swift may never go away. She sold out 5 dates at the Staples Center and continued with her record. Love her/hate her, she has power. And as for Miley, come on. Let's not forget the Britney/Christina performances we watched like 10-20 years ago and they are STILL here.

Maybe if Swift endures a couple of scandals or trys to become an actress or gets lazy maybe she loses her fans.

MTV still has the balls to do awards show when they only show music videos at 3am and Teen Mom during the rest of the day?

I saw it playing on Comedy Central the other day. I know today's pop music is a joke, but this just seemed a little obvious...

The Swift and Minaj duet was probably the highlight of the show.

I admit I think Cool for the Summer is a catchy pop song by Demi Lovato.

All the transgender and drag queens dancing during the Miley finale

Yeah, every thing goes in cycles. Miley and the rest of her crappy likeness will be gone in 5 years. Notice how there is no Britney/Christina anymore? Weekend/One Dimension/Kanye and all the others will be too. It will be replaced by the same ilk, but its the music business.
Taylor might have staying power but its not because of the power of her voice.

Well, Britney is doing the Vegas thing (two more years!!!) and just did the Teen Choice Awards or something. Christina has The Voice so while not on MTV, they still are doing their thing and doing it well.

Kanye has been around for how long? Yeah...he's got staying power. And no matter what people may think of Taylor's voice, she is the most influential singer right now with the most Instragram followers (yes, it sadly means something in today's age) and made Apple pay up. She owns the world.

Re: MTV VMA's 2015...anyone watch?

I actually enjoyed the show for the most part. Ryan Lewis and Macklemore were good with Downtown.

They need to change the show the YouTube Video Awards. I can't remember the last time I was able to watch a video on MTV, but I think YouTube already has its own show now.
