Re: Favorite Power Pop Tunes

And speaking of The Posies, now there's a great Power Pop band nobody's yet to mention. (And there's a Big Star connection, too.)

...As well as one of the greatest power pop bands EVER, from the same era, Jellyfish...

Re: Favorite Power Pop Tunes

I love Tommy Tutone's first album much more than the 2nd with Jenny on it.

One of my all time favorite songs, power pop or otherwise. Ridiculously catchy and that chorus is perfect:

Re: Favorite Power Pop Tunes

I love when I find a new, current band that plays that classic power pop style. Last week I first heard the Lisa Mychols 3:

Saw this band, Ex Hex, last night:

Solidifying their obvious power pop influences, the set contained two cover songs, The Sweet's "Fox on the Run", and The Real Kids' "All Kindsa Girls"

They covered "All Kindsa Girls"?? Wow! Very cool.
(And "Fox On The Run" is a great choice as well. First 45 I ever bought.)
