Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band: The Agora, Cleveland 1978

I love this show ... remember local radio station WXRT would often air it
I have it on cassette recorded from the radio but just discovered there is a Bruce Springsteen Archive Series and this was just released

any fans pick this up and if so what format and what are your thoughts on it?

Yeah I grabbed it the day it came out in FLAC-HD... Sounds incredible, love the show. I converted it to mp3 for the music player to listen in the car.

I guess it's nothing inordinate (I don't know), but they played "Sherry Darling" two years before its release on The River.

Hopefully Springsteen will do more of these, like a Dylan-style "bootleg series."

He originally recorded that for Darkness on the Edge of Town.

That's the plan, according to the web site.

I used to own a bootleg of Springsteen at the Roxy, circa 1978. Great, great recording. Hope that one gets an official release one day

Aha, he must have deemed it far too upbeat for Darkness, as if it were a sin to be glad you're alive.

Other than the Grateful Dead I usually loathe live albums but the 1975, 1978 and 1980 shows that Springsteen put up are great. I need to get the CD of the live show from the Born To Run box set now.

New show from 8/5/84 is up. Available in DSD format for the first time. Best sounding show yet.

Really dig the Nebraska and BitUSA tracks from the the 8/5/84 concert. Bring on more, Bruce.

I'm going to binge and buy all the shows this weekend (sans the 2012 concerts). It's awesome you can get these shows in FLAC for only $13 bucks to download. Now that is the right way to do downloads.

Meadowlands, NJ. First night of a 10 night stand. Only 4 of the shows were recorded. 2 on analogue 24 track and 2 on digital 24 track.

I hear you can purchase a lifetime pass for $500. Download everything they put up for one time fee. Makes me think there will 50+ shows made available.

I think I was at that show. See if you can hear me cheering the background... I was the one chanting "Bruuuuuuuuuuce!"

It would really suck if the project fell off and they only released about 10.

If you could only get one of these, which one would you choose?

Shit, I was there too. Best concert I've ever been to in my entire life -- that's what I said that night and it's still true some 25 years later. Bruce was maried to Julianne Phillips back then but I turned to my friendi during this show and said "He's fucking that backup singer". I was right about that.
