Modest Mouse announce "Strangers to Ourselves" due March 2015

don't care for the new single, didn't care for We Were Dead apart from 4 or 5 tracks, same for Good News. However, still a band whose music I anticipate.
On March 3, Modest Mouse will release Strangers to Ourselves, their first studio album since 2007's We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank. They just shared the album's first single, "Lampshades on Fire" (below). While the tracklist still hasn't surfaced, the 15-song double LP is available to pre-order on iTunes and via Glacial Pace.

I thought Good News was a great album, but I could never get into We Were Dead... and I think Dashboard is a terrible song.
That said, this band is awesome, so I'm definitely going to check out the new album.

I listen to MM in regular rotation. Never stopped. They're one of the five-or-so bands I never get tired of. New material is always good.

I have mixed feelings on Modest Mouse as a band. They aren't a band I really listen to often but I like some of their songs. My favorite release from them is the EP they did a while back, No One's First, and You're Next.

This is up on Spotify and Prime. I'm liking it quite a bit so far, though I've been listening to Lampshades on Fire a bunch prior to today.

It's out. It's good. Like I posted above, I listen to MM is regular rotation. And I have since I first started listening back in the Moon and Antarctica days.

I'm liking this album a lot. But WTF is up with Pistol? It's like there's almost a great song in there somewhere, even with the obviously satirical lyrics... but the way he sings them is just... so terrible. Surely, this is a song that I'm going to hate for awhile, then (somehow) I'm going to love it.

Yeah, I've listened to the album 6 or 7 times this week. I love it as a whole, but have skipped Pistol the last handful of times through. It's like nails on a chalkboard.

I've listened to the album about 3 times. Like it overall. Not sure it was worth an 8 year wait in between albums, but nice to have new material from them. I'd say I genuinely like half of the tracks, which is a good enough ratio to give it a thumbs up.
