Townes Van Zandt

Every time one of his songs shuffles up on my iPod, I fall in love with his music all over again. There are certain artists who never enjoyed popular success, but are universally beloved by their fellow musicians. Townes Van Zandt is one of those artists. I defy you to name a song more beautiful and life-affirming than "To Live is to Fly."

Re: Townes Van Zandt

Been listening to a lot of Townes lately. His cover of Hank's 'Honky Tonkin'' is fantastic.

Reminds me I need to get around to watching Heartworn Highways which was re-released last year. Big fan of TVZ.

Live At The Old Quarter is great stuff. Many musicians have covered his songs.

Second that. Love that album. Maybe too raw for some but great songs from a great talent.
