Thanks for the heads up on Purity Ring. I got the NO EP earlier today and really liked what I sampled. I'd never heard of them before and dug around for more information. Turns out that since that EP they changed their named to Black English. (That's helpful since their output as NO isn't on Spotify.)

Check out the song "Belispeak" by Purity Ring. That's my favorite song by them.

I was hoping their whole album was gonna be free or 99 cents.

Re: DVD Talk's awesome free music thread!

I got these songs yesterday at the Play store and forgot to post them here. I'm not sure if they're still free:

Puffy Daddy - "It's All About the Benjamins (Remix)"

Eminem - "Without Me"

fun. - "We Are Young"

Black Eyed Peas - "I Gotta Feeling"

I didn't get them yesterday, or anytime recently, but had them all. I think they may be free all the time.

The March "Antenna Sampler" is up with twenty free songs.

And, though it's not music, Transformers is free in HD at the moment.

Re: DVD Talk's awesome free music thread!

Apparently Amazon lets you search for Free music... this may be old news, but I'm sure it didn't work last year, so I'll mention it. And following "people also viewed" links can take you to dozens of Sampler albums and other freebies.

This may link there...

Cannabis Corpse is giving away most of their albums in celebration of 4/20. Pot-themed grind/death metal.

You don't need a Facebook account, but they have linked to them from theirs.

Got it, thanks. Though it's kind of an odd offer, with no promotion on their front page whatsoever. Maybe they didn't really want it but the label forced it on them.

I noticed the Classic Rock included tracks by Toto and Meat Loaf so I searched for the other artists' playlist as well, but one didn't exist and two are $5.99. Then I searched for other playlists, but a few pages just turned up paid ones so I gave up. Adam Lambert has a playlist already? I guess they're padding his two albums with some Glee and Idol stuff.

They're showing up in their own special section of the app today. But it was weird they seemed to get no promotion.
