Overpriced due to scalpers on eBay but I wanted at least one of them. Snagged the Mondo San Diego Comic Con 2014 Exclusive Mr. Freeze version of the Batman: The Animated Series vinyl 45.

Just picked this up. Much stronger than Acid Tongue, if not quite on the level of Rabbit Fur Coat.

Acid Tongue was tremendous (if just for Carpetbaggers alone!). The first 2-3 songs on this album are questionable (borderline pop star stuff). After that, it's good but sounds more like Rilo Kiley than her previous solo stuff. (I like her solo stuff much better.) IMO, a distant third to her other two records.

The Essential Johnny Cash- Though 36 songs on two discs hardly constitutes enough to cover even a portion of the half-century career of this genuinely extraordinary artist, this is still a nice collection which is lots of fun. Full of Cash's usual eclectic mix of primal rockabilly, weary, raw, blunt country and folk storytelling, & soulful gospel. Some jaunty novelties, powerful storytelling, ferocious energy, and surprising tenderness. Few artists anywhere could be as varied and still as powerful. It's amazing how vital the Sun Records stuff alone sounds after all these years. As these things go, it's pretty good, though of course it's only a small part of a much larger story.

I can't get enough of this album.



Kind of indescribable. Alt-jazz gets thrown around, but it's a mishmash of jazz, blues, rock, funk, prog, who knows what. But it's just great.
