Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

It's pricey, but it's a really nice release. It also sounds great, even though I've only heard it at a friend's place. Due to limited living room space and two young kids, my turntable is currently not in my entertainment center's rotation. Getting old sucks.

Yeah, assuming it doesn't sell out, it'll be a Christmas present to myself. We'll see how it goes in a couple of weeks. It's on its 3rd pressing and it comes in yellow now.

Papa Emeritus II is a great singer:

I've probably listened to this record a dozen times now. Really like it (obvious I know). Anyway, think my favorite track is Waiting For the Night, but they're all damn good covers.

FYI, Ghost's Opus Eponymous is $9.99 on Amazon. The vinyl version.

Just went ahead and scooped up Infestissumam used for $11. I can't justify the $50 for the yellow import.

Man, these guys tour a lot! Pretty much non-stop since late 2010. Here's hoping they make another pass through the US in 2014.

True that. They played in Los Angeles this year but I was not yet a fan, so here's hoping they come back to town in 2014.

I'm really hoping they are on the Sonisphere Italy bill this year. They have already attached to a couple of other Sonisphere festivals, just waiting for the announcement of who is opening for Metallica. Plus I think it will be cool to see them play right down the road from the Vatican.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

Wow, here's the band doing a Beatles' song - it's from the Japanese edition of Opus Eponymous - it's pretty fucking epic:

Great cover. Got an Amazon GC or Xmas and just picked up the next two releases from them. I already had the debut. Really love these guys and the new singer is excellent.

It's still the same singer.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

I must have listened to Opus Eponymous 4 times over the past couple weeks (what a great way to celebrate XMas ). Practically had 'Ritual' on a loop. Still need to pick up Infestissumam.

Infestissumam isn't quite as good/catchy as Opus, but it's still a lot of fun.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

"If You Have Ghosts" is a killer cover. This EP had a lot more of that first album vibe for me which is a plus.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

I think "Ritual" from the first album and "Body and Blood" from the second album pair up quite nicely.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

Finally was able to give the two albums and EP a proper listen. Liked them more than I thought I would. I will admit the second record is not quite as good as the first, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be based on comments about it.

I agree "If You Have Ghosts" is a great cover.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

I must be the only one that likes the second just as much as the first, maybe slightly more.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

The only thing I don't care for with the second one is the sound. Very bassy and boomy. The first record sounded much better.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

I was listening to this stuff in the car today and I realized the singer sounds kind of like Weird Al at times. That definitely puts a different spin on it.

Re: The 'Ghost B.C.' Thread

Looks like the L.A. show will be at The Fonda Theater in Hollywood. Haven't been there since I saw Buckethead back in 2006! Before the remodel.
