Prince, you've been at this so long and somehow you're still not getting it. Don't cannibalize your own sales!

I couldn't make it more than a minute into that first song. Prince using autotune = I'm done. For someone who built his career on being so completely original and influential, he's sure jumped on a lot of bandwagons for quite some time now, copying trends and things everyone else is doing. I knew he was on his way out when he started rapping years ago. He had a brief comeback and popularity surge, and good for him for that, but he is just plain fucking up now.

I've listened to them both for the past few days, I like a number of them this time unlike the last few albums. I don't hear anything great on either of them but I like probably 8-10 tracks on them both combined.

They're gonna broadcast live from Paisley Park tomorrow album release party don't miss it. It'll be killer.

Unfortunately, I saw the broadcast and it was a "killer" in terms of killing potential sales and his killing his already embarrassing reputation. What a mess...the hostess was awkward and didn't know much about Prince, and the performance was duller than dull.

New Prince:

Prince released a surprise single to kick off his surprise tour
By Alex McCown@alexm247 Mar 13, 2015 2:00 PM

Given that he’s decided to go on a surprise tour this summer, essentially popping up to play a show whenever and wherever he feels like it at a moment’s notice, it’s no surprise that Prince would do the same with releasing new music. To mark the start of his four night opening stint in Louisville, KY, the Purple One debuted a new track, “What If?”, on radio station WFPK. It’s a cover of a saccharine Christian ballad by Nichole Nordeman, so naturally Prince reworked it quite a bit. It’s got an arena-ready intro, dueling vocals by Prince and 3rdEyeGirl drummer Hannah Welton, and sounds like a lost nugget from a mid-’80s erotic thriller. Much like Prince himself.

I couldn't get the song to embed in this post, so click over to the article to hear it. My reaction: meh.
