Soundtown Music Festival - Somerset, WI
So promoters announced today that this was cancelled due to low ticket sales. How often do festivals like this get cancelled? I don't recall seeing one that had such a good number of headliners not sell tickets. I would be pissed if I lived near there cause I would definitely have been going to this one.

Not surprised. I don't think that area has enough people to warrant a festival in the summer (without Madison's college students). There's a reason they're always near populated areas. The Twin Cities have 3.6 million or so people... that's not enough. Especially if the headliner is Dr. Dog who's not that well-known.

Yeah, I'm furious about this. They seriously lacked promotion for this concert. Had I not gone to see Neon Indian at First Ave. in May, I wouldn't have ever known about it. We decided on this concert though because it was closer than Lolla and a lot cheaper. They fumbled the shit out of this one. Headliners were Weezer, Jane's Addiction and Florence + The Machine, had people actually known about it, it might have had better sales. Their Facebook page was next to worthless, no one even had an idea that ticket sales were so poor. Now we have to find something different to do that weekend since we each took vacation time for part of the festival.
