Last night, The Kings of the Mic Tour - LL Cool J, Ice Cube, Public Enemy, De La Soul. Great show and lots of fun. During set breaks various old school hip-hop songs were played (Whodini, Beastie Boys, etc.) and audience members staged dance offs in the aisles.

Saturday night my wife and I saw Local Natives & The National. I'd seen Local Natives this March, and they were great both times. The National show was simply tremendous. I can't say enough good things about it.

I've been on the fence about getting tickets to Black Flag out here in California. At the same time I do want to try and see Flag at FYF Fest out in Los Angeles.

I thought Reyes/Ginn were great. My only complaint would be that tempo wise some of the songs were a little slow. I will be seeing Flag in September when they come to NYC and then make my decision on the better line-up.

De La Soul & Public Enemy were thirty minutes each. Ice Cube's was about 45-50 minutes and LL played for an hour. I wish Public Enemy had at least played about 45 minutes, they were fantastic!

I saw Cheap Trick last night ... I cannot recommend them enough, those dudes just flat out rock still and Zander can still belt out the songs.

Going to see them again in August!

As for recently, already saw two shows this past week (The Joy Formidable on Tuesday and Alice Cooper & Marilyn Manson on Thursday), and I'm going to see the Pyschedlic Furs tonight. Can't remember the last time I saw three rock shows in the same week. Would have had to have been some time back in the late 90's or early 00's, but it's been at least a decade.
