I saw Ratt last night at the HoB .... Pearcy sounded so-so singing, but the rest of the band was really tight. They pretty much played a greatest hits setlist, the place was packed and it was a fun show.

Just got home from seeing Opeth @ the Roxy. Fantastic set, as always, but the intimate environment provided by the Roxy really made the show so much better.

I actually had a ticket to this show, but ended up parting with it on Stubhub as I had some other commitments that came up recently. Glad to hear it was a good show.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?
Just got back from Bjork at the Hollywood Palladium. Holy crap, what a great show. The whole thing was in the round. Bjork wore a giant pink afro and some puffy dress. She had an entire chorus of Icelandic singers who danced around barefoot, some massive pendulums, and a massive Tesla coil. She mostly played songs from Biophilia, but a few from Homogenic, Vespertine, Volta, even "Possibly Maybe" from Post.
It was fantastic seeing her in such a small venue. The last time I saw her, on the Vespertine tour, was at the Hollywood Bowl, and I was so far back I might as well have been watching it on TV.

Went to Free Press Summer Fest this weekend.
Saturday: Jandek, Paul Banks, The Head and the Heart, some Iggy and the Stooges, The Postal Service (loved being able to see them live, never thought I would)
Sunday: UME (amazing), Dawes, the end of Mavis Staples, Cat Power (damn she was sick or in some serious pain, still put on a good show), Of Monsters and Men, heard Thrift Store from Macklemore..., Grace Potter and the Nocturnals

Dropkick Murphy's
Fillmore Denver
It was a good show, but it's been too long since I picked up one of their albums. Yes, I am apparently one of those people that primarily wants to hear stuff off their first few albums, so I didn't enjoy it as much as I have the last few times I've seen them.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?
Fleetwood Mac show tonight in Detroit.
Been looking forward to this for a while now. I've read some reviews, from other venues, and they have been pretty positive on both the setlist and sound of the group. Granted, this isn't their peak in terms of career and there is no Christine McVie present. But people have said they sound good and the set list is Rumours heavy as its the 35th anniversary of the album, I believe.
Plus, this is probably the last big tour they'll have anyways. I've been wanting to see Stevie live for a long time, but always had something preventing me from seeing her whenever she was in Detroit in the past.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?
Saw Japandroids, with Crocodiles as the opener, last night. Crocodiles were great and nice guys as well. Japandroids were a disappointment - I had hoped that the anthemic quality of their songs would translate well live, but instead the incessant sameness of them was the dominant feature. So, for the third time this week I ended up leaving a show early in the headliner's set.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?
Saw Dawes last night. Solid show but I left half my body weight there in sweat since the Cat's Cradle is not air conditioned. On to The Kings of The Mic Tour this Sunday!

Re: What concert did you recently attend?
Rolling Stones at the Boston Garden last night. Had one of the $85 ticket pairs and ended up front row in the Tongue Pit. Great show, with Mick Taylor looking less Gérard Depardieuish than he seemed on the limited tour the end of last year. Oh, and odd celebrity sighting, I'm fairly certain the beret wearing guy from Mythbusters was also there a few feet behind me.

I was curious what kind of seats people would get with that. Good for you. I had a chance to get them, but I opted to get the next price up so I atleast knew where I would be. Did you hear of any other locations people got?
I'm going to see them Tues in Philly.
