What concert did you recently attend?

Re: What concert did you recently attend?
So Dylan was really good. He had that weird lighting he uses. Never touched a guitar. Never muttered a word to the audience. Played or stood behind a big grand piano. Played Tangled Up in Blue, All Along the Watchtower, Ballad of a Thin Man, Visions of Johanna, Love Sick (which was awesome). His band was super tight. At the end of the show, the lights went black and Dylan and the band stood at the edge of the stage looking as the lights went black again. No waves, no words.
Dawes was great too. They are getting better and better. This is the 4th or 5th time I've seen them.

4/12: Fu Manchu @ Ace of Cups
w/Bloodnstuff, Beggars
Fu Manchu was amazing as always, such a fun, and HEAVY live act.
Bloodnstuff- a creative, genre defying two-piece I had never heard of who really impressed me. I've since bought their album and can't stop listening to it.

Nothing recent, but I will be seeing Paul Van Dyk at Avalon Saturday! Haven't seen him live since the GIANT block party back in 2000 (or was it 2001?) in Hollywood.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?
Opeth was killer...played more of the heavier stuff, much different from the last time I saw them.
After How To Destroy Angels, I got The Gaslight Anthem at the Stone Pony on 5/26. Second time seeing them...I can say that the crowd at Terminal 5 was fucking atrocious. Hopefully the Jersey crowd is better.

Just saw Muse at Bell Center here in Montreal and boy was it kick ass! So kick ass that for the first time in my concert goings i'm going for the SECOND night.
It was a total visual feast!
Was mostly due to my girlfriend though, she REALLY wanted to go tomorrow also and after such a great show tonight we decided to get tickets for tomorrow's show(she's paying of course ).
We were seated pretty damn far from the stage tonight and i was able to score tickets MUCH closer for tomorrow's show so at least the viewing angle will be different!
But hopefully their setlist is gonna change alot! I'm really hoping for the same thing that New York got in their second night which was this
http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/muse/2...y-3d8c97b.html
Looking at other shows this is really the night where they had the most 'new' songs (in terms of not being the same every night)
Should be fun!

Deftones was fantastic. High energy from them and played all the songs I wanted to hear.

Upcoming shows for me:
Tonight - Fleetwood Mac
4/30 - Johnny Marr
5/12 - Phoenix, Passion Pit and a bunch of others
5/23 - Tom Petty
6/10 - Paul McCartney
6/14 - The Postal Service
6/18 - The Rolling Stones
6/20 - MGMT
6/23 - Chvrches
7/25 - Bon Jovi (girlfriend's choice)
8/2-8/4 - Lolla
Those 2 weeks in June are going to be tiring. I'm sure more will be added.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?
Judging by the setlists on his website, he's playing the exact same setlist every night on this leg of the tour.
I'm really happy I got to see him even if it wasn't 1966.

All I know is what I heard was incredible, and their live performance was absolutely insane. I can't wait to see them again. New album this Fall.

How to Destroy Angels
The songs were far better live, and by better I mostly mean more aggressive. The visuals were quite impressive.

Re: What concert did you recently attend?
You know, I just discovered them when their latest, "The Apologist" came out and I instantly fell in love. I wasn't familiar with any of their older stuff, but I bought their two previous CDs at the show. Not sure if they played any of their other band's material or not.

East Of The Wall is another beast entirely. They are awesome musicians but the music is narrow in terms of who can like it. Sad really, most people will not give them a chance*.

4/27 - Paul Van Dyk @Avalon in Hollywood.
Man, what a killer show! We got there right before 10pm, went right in, and it was dead and his opening act, Kristina Sky, was spinning to pretty much no one. They were holding the lines. 20 minutes later, it went off and got really packed and she proceeded to spin until 12am. Then PVD took over and rocked the joint for at least 3 hours. I'm not really sure what time he finished playing, because by 3:10am, we bounced. It was the longest concert I have ever been too. Avalon is also one of the only after hour clubs in Hollywood, so that particular crowd had already started to arrive.

4/27 The Joy Formidable at the Norman Music Festival.
This was my son's (9y/o) first concert and he loves this band. We got up front and he loved it. Ritzy even came down on the final song and was interacting with the crowd, and my son got a big hug.
