Dobie Gray of "Drift Away" fame has died

Singer Dobie Gray, who had an enormous hit with 1973's "Drift Away," has died at age 71.

I have had the original "Drift Away" album for years on vinyl, it's strong from start to end, with a great country-rock-soul sound.
