I remember Dre always wanting to put new artists no one had heard of on his albums. It worked great for The Chronic, but about the last half of 2001 was crap with guys never heard from again.

For Detox, he could easily do 1 verse per song then have Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, The Game, Snoop etc. do the rest and it would be a killer album.

I have no doubt the production/music etc. would be top notch.

That would probably be ideal for him. I remember him saying in an interview that he hated the sound of his own voice.

Yes, lots of people don't like hearing recordings of themselves talking/singing etc.

Dr. Dre's rapping voice always sounded like someone intentionally trying to talk with a deeper voice than he actually had.

But he wasn't a bad rapper when people wrote good verses for him, which was quite a bit.

Kanye, who is an outstanding music producer/creator of ideas, could take a lesson from this and use mostly guest artists on his songs. Always thought he sounded forced and awkward while rapping.
