Heading out to the show in about 15 minutes. Kept waking up last night like it was Christmas morning. Can't wait.

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
I know this is a bit off topic, but I found this link for the Final Cut Video comp:
http://www.pinkfloyd.co.uk/theFinalCut/ I thought it might be enjoyable. I hadn't seen a very good copy of this in quite some time. Although reviews of this album seem to be mixed, I thought it was brilliant and underrated.

Bump. Excited about seeing the show again in LA on May 19th. Anyone else going to see this leg of tour? I wonder if there are any changes.

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
I'm going to the show in Tulsa on Cinco de Mayo! Going to be a long day of cerveza, puffy tacos, luchadores, and The Wall!
Saw the Dallas show back in November 2010, almost 18 months to the day. That's a schedule I can get behind until the end of days. |

I'm taking my wife to see the L.A. show on the 19th. Looking forward to the spectacle!

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
I had tickets with my friend for the Minneapolis / St. Paul show and he had to cancel this weekend because of an unexpected work trip out of his control.

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
It was just as amazing as it was 18 months ago. The experience is something not to be missed, but you all already know that. There were 22 of us this time and everyone loved it.
I have some nitpicks, but the fact that Waters can't sing his tunes the way he did 30 years ago isn't news. He does an amazing job, considering. There were quite a few fuck ups by the band and backers, but that shouldn't necessarily affect other shows. He did add a new acoustic song early on that was sort of Another Brick Part 1.5. Didn't really care for it, honestly, but it wasn't out of place either. Here's some photos from our show: http://www.tulsaworld.com/news/artic...0_Asoldo723653 |

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
Holy shit, went to this on Monday night here in town and it blew my away. Probably in my top 5 all time now, just on sheer production value alone. Opening with fireworks, all of imagery with costumes, and displays on the wall. Really a powerful and emotional journey. Not to mention incredible musicianship. I don't know why I didn't see him sooner, but after that show he definitely got onto the 'see them everytime they're in town' list.
As a bonus, when we got there, there was a spotlight in our row of seats and the chairs had covers over them. So, we give our tickets to the attendant, then she returns about 20 minutes later, minutes before the show starts and said "when I said I'd come through, I come through", we got upgraded to club level seats. Took the evelator down 1 level and got in the leather club level seats with probably a minute to spare. Only downside to club level is all the old, rich folks sat through the whole show and we definitely got a few 'they'll let anybody in club level these days' looks.

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
^ That's Awesome! Where were your original seats?
I splurged for good seats this time, last time I was on the side & could see behind the wall, this time I'm center floor (field). One week away. Can't wait. |

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
The original seats were at the first row of the upper section, then they had black cover over the seats in most of that row, so the spotlight could swing around to each side. Center floor should be great spot, you are definitely in for a treat. I'll see if I can post a picture from the show.

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
It was nice to see the changes in the show. The wall was twice as long as it was @ Staples. And there were prerecorded "monitor" shots projected on the far ends of the wall. Interesting that Waters does the same choreographed gestures every performance. His mike was dead in The Thin Ice, and as soon as it was hot he stopped the performance & started the song over. After the show was over he addressed the crowd, mentioning being @ the coliseum in 1980 and how he was in a different place then, and how this time he was truly happy to be there.
On a side note I guess no one has yet claimed the $10,000 reward he has offered for the return of the pig balloon that floated away in Indio, CA... |

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
I saw the L.A. performance last night and was infinitely better than the first time I saw it performed back in 1980, yes even w/out Gilmour. To his credit, Roger stopped the proceeding because his mic was out during "The Thin Ice" and waited a few moments for it to be fixed before proceeding with it again from the top. Kudos to him for accepting anything less than perfection. I was able to snap a few shots from my cellular from our seats. Any seat in the venue was great given the size and scope of the production. There were huge speaker columns about every 1 1/2 hour on the clock around the perimeter at the top of the coliseum. Made for a great surround sound experience. The sound was unbelievably great! I would have been extremely disappointed if it hadn't been given Roger's track record. This show is NOT to be missed!!!

Re: Roger Waters to perform The Wall on tour
I went to another show last month. Waters came back to South Florida at the same venue. This time I wrote a review for the area "New Times" publication. Here's a link (lots of close-up pictures in the slide show, too):
