Dusted off The Offspring's "Ixnay on the Hombre"... forgot just how nearly flawless this album was!

Let It Ride by Buffalo Killers

I just discovered the band. This album--their second--was produced by Dan Auerbach so there's a bit of Black Keys feel here.

Currently, it's the latest from Bleu...

Perhaps a wee bit more mellow overall than I'd like, but still pretty decent.

Presently:

Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero

On the MP3 disc I made I had a ton of stuff on there, but I don't recall everything. I will update it when I hit the next album.

Just before the NIN album was the new Dinosaur Jr, which was fucking amazing! These guys still have it after all these years.

Ministry : "The Nature of Love"

I've always preferred the early, dance Ministry. [Though 'The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste' and especially 'The Land of Rape and Honey' are not without their merits. Anything past 'Psalm 69' - that album included - is generally a waste of time, however. ]

Two digital EPs out today:

The Hidden Cameras : In The NA
La Roux : Bulletproof

I'm not entirely enthralled by the Hidden Cameras EP like I have been in the past, but it is nice to have them back. The La Roux US EP comes with three mixes not on the UK single - the first two are just danced up versions but the Lagos Boys Choir remix is incredible.

Got a lot of mileage out of several compilations over the last week or two.

Now 31
Green Day's International Superhits
Third Eye Blind's Collection
Blink 182's Greatest Hits

Re: What Are You Listening to? (July 2009) edition

I've been "out of the game" for a bit since I put my eMusic subscription on hold a couple of months ago, and just returned to find that they have fucked with the pricing structure yet again, thanks to the Sony partnership. I was grandfathered in, but dropping from 40 tracks to 30 tracks for $12 stings. I just need to keep reminding myself that $12 is approximately what I would have to pay for any given new release CD.

Anyway...

The top right one is Son Volt's "Hello Goodbye" Beatles cover. I still need to pick up their new American Central Dust album.

The Hidden Cameras:
"In the NA" EP
'Ecce Homo'
'The Smell of Our Own'
'Mississauga Goddam'
'Awoo'

"In the NA" has totally grown on me - infectious little bugger - and I've been spending lots of quality time with the back catalogue albums and singles. I'd almost forgotten how much I love this band - almost. Now if we could get a tour going - after seeing them 11 times between 2003 and 2006, it's been three years since the last time.
