Need Emusic recommendations
I forgot to cancel my Emusic account after taking advantage of the deal with the expired starter packs and now I need some other ideas for songs/albums to buy. I picked up all of the music I wanted and I hate to waste the extra downloads I paid for now.
Rock is my preferred category though I am pretty open. I do enjoy acoustic stuff also though. I picked up a Tesla album I didn't have, a couple of Cowboy Mouth and Jimmie's Chicken Shack albums since I liked their old stuff. Please save me from throwing my downloads away on Richard Cheese lol.

They Might Be Giants - Long Tall Weekend
That They Might Be Giants album is the reason I got eMusic in the first place. "Reprehensible" and "Certain People I Could Name" are two of their best songs that no one knows about.
Also, I'll add two more. Aphex Twin's "Selected Ambient Works 85-92" and "Classics" are must own electronic albums.

Re: Need Emusic recommendations
I just downloaded Daniel Tosh's True Stories I Made Up, which is fucking hilarious. I've actually used eMusic to download quite a few comedy albums, most of them pretty good.
As for general recommendations, The Gaslight Anthem's The '59 Sound is an album more people need to own. I've also been listening to Murder By Death's Red of Tooth and Claw quite a bit since I got it (one of their songs was featured in a trailer for Inglourious Basterds).

They've gotten a good chunk of the Sony back catalog since this thread was last updated, so there's a lot more "mainstream" stuff available on their site. That said...
Ladyhawke- Ladyhawke
Annie - Don't Stop
Army Navy - Army Navy
Metric - Fantasies
Delorean - Ayrton Senna

I have been pretty pleased with just about everything from The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Lucero, Okkervil River, Wheat, The National, Moonbabies, and The Avett Brothers. Other albums that get a lot of spins:
- The Duckworth Lewis Method, (self-titled)
- fun., Aim And Ignite (and, if you like this one, grab everything from The Format)
- Port O'Brien, Threadbare
- Cherry Twister, At Home With Cherry Twister
- The Weight, Ten Mile Grace
- I Was A King, (self-titled)
- The Story Of, Until The Autumn (the first track is great)
- The Submarines, Honeysuckle Weeks (although I have heard the first track on iPhone commercials about 67,397,426,903 times now)

Re: Need Emusic recommendations
Seconded.
Apple used to use track 3 on this album for their iPhone commercials too. Apple has some sort of crush on this album, which isn't too surprising, since it's good.
Speaking of phone commercials, I was surprised that the commercials for the Palm Pixi use Passion Pit's song "Sleepyhead," from the EP I linked to last year:
