WTF is with the SUNDAY release? That's weird as hell, what is this a Wii game? I thought I must have been remembering the date wrong, but I guess not.

New sale ads for Target begin on Sundays...they are the exclusive major retailer in the US for this album, hence it is being released on Sunday for promotional reasons....

re: PEARL JAM's new album - Backspacer - to be produced by Brendan O'Brien
Apparently Santa was filling in for my regular mail carrier today, as I opened up the mailbox to find my Ten Club-exclusive-hardbound-book-style copy of BACKSPACER waiting for me there!
![]() Funny, I got my copy of their last album through their website three days early as well....let's hope this trend continues for all future releases! ![]() I really like the illustrated artwork, especially the last picture where the disc is being held... Spoiler:

re: PEARL JAM's new album - Backspacer - to be produced by Brendan O'Brien
Are there any b-sides of the first single or bonus tracks on any releases, possibly off foreign releases of the album...?
I think Supersonic (an album track) was the U.S. b-side for Fixer.... thanks |

re: PEARL JAM's new album - Backspacer - to be produced by Brendan O'Brien
Well, I'm 160 miles from the nearest Target (or any music store) and I just can't bring myself to download the album instead of buying it. I can't get it from Amazon, and as far as I could tell, ordering it from the Pearl Jam website would require a $20 registration fee to join their club plus the cost of the album. So I guess I'm screwed. This is the first time I've felt like the record industry is trying to prevent me from buying an album.

Whoa - "Supersonic" and "Got Some" are suprisingly good. Guess they aren't done yet.
The Fixer like some others have said, is actually gowing on me though I haven't given it enough listens (still on the "don't really like it at all wagon" but it's becoming more tolerable for whatever reasons). You can listen to Supersonic and Got some for free (and legally) here: http://www.pastemagazine.com/action/...ode=standalone (hit the menu button after watching or skipping the add to see all three tracks) |

re: PEARL JAM's new album - Backspacer - to be produced by Brendan O'Brien
you don't need to be a 10c member to buy it from the Pearl Jam website...
I skipped over ordering it from 10c this time 'round, since my Avocado arrived over a week after release and my impatience required me to buy the retail version in the interim. I was disappointed that neither Target in my town had the Rockband verison available today.

re: PEARL JAM's new album - Backspacer - to be produced by Brendan O'Brien
You're right. I just went back to the site after your post and realized how to order it. However, I also saw that the price was going to be just under $20 after shipping. I'm not going to pay $20 for something that clocks in just above an EP. As much as I love the band, I don't love them enough to pay that kind of inflated price just because they decided to get paid by signing an exclusive deal with a major corporation.

So what two free shows does everyone recommend? Or is there a quick link somewhere to see the setlists for each show?

On the Pearl Jam forum, people recommend the Philly and Hartford Shows... I haven't been able to get it to work, so I haven't done anything yet

http://www.pearljam.com/tour/shows OR, you can check out the long-time-running Concert Chronology here: http://www.twofeetthick.com/concert-chronology/ That one has much more detailed notes for most shows (though they are still behind on some of the ones from the past couple years).... |

I went to Target yesterday to pick up this CD and they didn't have it. They claimed it was available online only.

Think the album is excellent. Loud, gritty and accessible at the same time. Just Breathe is a lovely ballad which reminds me a little of Dust in the Wind.
