Don't watch the video then. I saw it late the other night on Metal Mania and I think I woke the neighborhood from laughing so hard.

Don't know why anyone would accuse specifically Rock N Roll Train of having silly lyrics. IT'S AC/DC. Silly or not, they're gonna do what they're gonna do.
Having said that, I can't believe I turned down the chance to see them in '85 or '86 because it was "too expensive" at $14. Now I'm going to willingly shell out $100. Go figure.

I saw them that tour with Yngwie Malmsteen and (I think) Helix as openers. Good show... strange crowd.

A friend of a friend of a friend has heard the thing, and I really don't care for it very much. Way too much of the slow, mid-tempo and bluesy stuff and not enough rocking.

For anyone that wants to preview the entire album, vh1.com is streaming it now. I didn't really like the last couple of albums but this one seems to be pretty good. At least if this is truly the last one from them it seems they put some effort in to it.

My 13 year old son entered a Rockband contest at Walmart this past weekend and took second place. The prize was the special edition cd. We haven't listened to it yet. What's the concensus so far?

Not bad. I'd say it's as good as "Flick Of The Switch". Some great songs, some not so great. But good stuff, overall.
People are raving about it on alt.rocknroll.ac-dc

Picked mine up tonight, and listened to it on the way home from work. Got the last Special Edition copy at the Wal-Mart I visited, too. Curious to know what the difference is between that and the regular version, which, supposedly, doesn't have the lyrics, photos, and unique packaging this one does. It was only $2 bucks more, so I figured why not?
I'd say it's easily the best album they've done in a long, long, long time. Better than Stiff Upper Lip, and certainly better than Ballbreaker. This is the album I've been waiting for them to make, or close enough to it anyway, for well over a decade.

If this is to be there last album then it's a great way to go out because I can't see any other band delivering this solid of an album this late in there career and having it be this great.

I just picked it up, and haven't gotten to listen to it yet. Also picked up 'Ballbreaker', 'Stiff Upper Lip', 'Let There Be Rock', and 'The Razor's Edge'. Trying to complete my AC/DC collection. Only one or two left, I think.

I listened to the first half at work today and really like it.
I think it is worth the cash. I like it better than what I listened to off of Stiff Upper Lip and Ballbreaker, but not as much as Razor's Edge.
Somebody really needs to start an AC/DC album by album thread beacuse I think it could be a really good discussion. Maybe I'll do it, but I really need to listen to some of their stuff I haven't bothered with as of yet.

Is the general consensus that they are hanging it up after this release/tour?? I see it alluded almost everywhere that talks about them.
If it is, I'm glad I got tickets to see them! I'll be grabbing a copy this evening.

Angus said on the Still Upper Lip tour that he's not going to hang it up until he loses all of his teeth and all of his hair. "I'm getting there, but not just yet."

AC/DC's 'Ice' Red Hot At Retail
October 22, 2008 , 2:45 PM ET
Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
AC/DC's "Black Ice" is flying off the shelves at Wal-Mart and Sam's Club, the exclusive U.S. retailers for the album that arrived yesterday (Oct. 21). Sources estimate the set sold 193,000 copies in its first day of sale, and could move upward of 800,000 in its first week.
This week, Wal-Mart set up "pop-up" stores in New York and Los Angeles to sell the album and offer fans the chance to play the AC/DC-branded version of the video game "Rock Band."
At regular Wal-Mart outlets, AC/DC has its own store-within-the-store, featuring the band's back catalog and merchandise.
They are moving a lot of copies, and probably a decent amount of catalog titles as well. I think these Walmart exclusive distribution deals are great for bands like this. They make more money and move more product.
