Lame attempt to find name of this song!
Ok, it's an instrumental, so this is going to be difficult. It's old. I think probably from the 70's. It's got light piano, then trumpets come in for the chorus, then light piano again, etc. It's one of the more well-known instrumentals and gets played on the radio from time to time. It's not Love is Blue, but often when I'm trying to think of the melody, I accidentally think of that song.
Any ideas?

It would be amazingly sad if I actually knew this from your description, but maybe "Soulful Strut" by Young-Holt Unlimited? You can hear a clip at Amazon, under their Best of album...

I have another, it's a stupid rap song, but I need to know the name...
basically, it's people chanting
Hoe, she's a hoe (chanting in an low deep tone, kinda dark too)
then the rapper starts saying really stupid stuff, but one
line has him saying "hoecakes", just like the joke in Hollywood Shuffle.
Any idea?
Thanks
