I actually like Hey Ya the first 100 times I've heard it... now I wish I'd never hear it again.

So, they'll go back to their prior level then (although a few of their old fans are probably sick of them now, too). I never really heard of them before and probably won't really hear of them again.

Most likely, they'll lose some of their old fans (who will think they sold out) and not keep most of the new ones (unless all their music is just like Hey Ya), but still be somewhat successful (but like I said, I had never heard of them before, so I guess they are just much more popular than I realized)

Explain this, please..

...still wondering how Queen "managed to outlast it"..
We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions...incredibly overplayed, but Queen still had a couple of hits after it got overplayed. That's what I meant by Queen outlasting it (the curse of the overplayed hit).

You people are all insane. "Hey Ya" is clearly the new "Tub-Thumping." Sheesh.

Remember the song "Ms. Jackson" that was all the rage in 2001? You know, "Sorry Ms. Jackson/I am for REALLLLLLLLLLL"

That was OutKast.

Yeah, I know that one, actually. Hate it, but know it. Just not my thing. I'm one of the masses that only likes Hey Ya [but is sick of it]--I've listened to more since and don't like it all.

Outkast constantly changes its music, which keeps it fresh. "Hey ya" is a good song but it is getting overplayed and pimped out.

Both suck (IMO) and are overplayed, so they are similar in that vain.

What I am saying is that most fans viewed this as a huge risk for Outkast, specifically Andre, so I just don't see many people saying they sold out.

I'm glad Outkast keeps staying diverse with their style, but please for the love of God, STOP OVERPLAYING ANY OUTKAST SONG! The radio is just ruining every song they put out
