Dish Network Just Got MuchMusic...

... and boy I hope it's all not like the 2 hours of programming that I saw tonight.

I saw 2 shows dedicated to Alanis and 1 show dedicated to the Barenaked Ladies.

I realize the network is based in Canada, but it's called MuchMusic USA -- does this network always kiss up to Canadian artists all day?

Those of you who have this network might know what I'm talking aboot about.

Well being Canadian, I can just as well say that MTV kisses up to American artists all day. So what's the problem? It's just called MuchMusic USA to gain market appeal or some such reason, but the programming is almost all the same as the regular MuchMusic that we get in Canada. Plus atleast MuchMusic shows music videos unlike MTV.

It's channel 158. I think it's part of AT150.

And I'd have no problem with MuchMusic kissing up to Canadian artists all day if they were any good.

I've had much music since this summer when I got digital cable. It sucks pretty bad, they play way to much pop, rap and R&B for my tastes. At least they play music, instead of stupid shows, unlike MTV and VH1 I guess.

Luckily in the fall my cable company added MTV-2 and MTV-X, both of which are very good. Especially MTV-X, can't beat no commericals, no VJ's and all rock videos.

Damn, I am not gonna subscribe to AT150 just for it. I wish I could get MM instead of MTV2 on AT100. Oh well!

We get Much Music on DirecTV also, and I never watch it.

I do watch MTV2 sometimes though... It isn't half bad

What kind of stuff does MTV-X play?

According to their website, Dish Network has Much Music on "America's Everything Pak", "America's Top 100" and "America's Top 150".

Much Music used to be good a couple of years ago, but it's now just bad. I watch MTV2 and that's it.

We have the opposite problem in Canada. We just got MTV and MTV2 and they are both incredibly suck. All I've seen is rap videos and pop music (when they're actually showing videos.) Muchmusic is a lot better than MTV up here, but MuchLoud is the best IMHO. No VJs, just alternative, hard rock, metal and punk videos and concerts 24/7.

All rock music all the time, no commercials and no VJ's. They play a wide variety of rock covering the 80's to present. You'll see AC/DC, Rush, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Linkin Park, etc.

They still play a lot of crap (Rush, Limp Bizkit, Hair bands etc) but they play a lot of stuff I like too. Basically if you're favorite genre is rock, you're going to see some stuff you like (regardless of what type of rock it is) but you still have to put up with a bunch of videos you hate.
