At this moment, Def Leppard is working on their tenth official album, the follow-up of their 1999 release EUPHORIA, tentavely called X (as in the Roman numeral for 10). Recordings are taking place in Los Angeles, Dublin and Sweden, and for the first time in the band's history, they are using more than one producer for one album (compilations RETRO ACTIVE and VAULT not included): besides "Leppard veteran" Pete Woodruffe, album #10 will also have songs produced by Marti Frederiksen, Andreas Carlsson and Per Aldeheim.

At this moment, there is no known release date, although the band are aiming for a release in the Spring of 2002, with a Summer tour to follow. How many songs will be on the album is also something that has not been decided yet.

Yep, the Deftones have been on the Maverick label since the beginning. Maverick has signed alot of hardcore bands, now that the Deftones have really taken off.

Here's my list:

Coldplay (c'mon guys! Parachutes is almost 2 years old!)
Blur
Suede (That's the London Suede in the US)
Oasis - NO FLAMES! I like Oasis and I'm not ashamed to admit it, even though they have probably jumped the shark already
Supergrass
Mansun - not Marilyn!
I'm sure there's more but......

Got Pulp's "We Love Life" and it's beautiful. Definitely one you have to listen to a few times, but it gets more and more charming. Now if only they would tour here, is that asking too much?>

Pearl Jam- There's definitely a "rarities" album coming out with things like a new studio version of Yellow Ledbetter, and they are hitting the studio soon to work on a new album, hopefully that will be out this year as well.

The new Rage Against the Machine with Cornell.

I believe the Red Hot Chili Peppers have a new one coming out too.

Other than that I really don't know what's due out this year.

I've had a copy since September and it's an amazing record.

I'll still be picking up the official copy, though.

Also looking forward to the albums from Liz Phair, The Axl Rose Project (which is vaporware, by the way), and anything from Zwan, the group that Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlain are in now.

Without a doubt:

VNV Nation - Futureperfect

There's rumours of an Apoptygma Berzerk album coming out as well - if this info is true, that would top my list.

Besides Flogging Molly's release in March, I'm looking forward to the NOFX/Rancid split coming out March 5th on BYO records. Nofx will be covering Rancid songs, and Rancid will be covering NOFX songs.

I'm also looking forward to the Dashboard Confessional/New Amsterdams split.

Is there any chance Sarah McLachlan might have a new album out by the end of the year? As of this summer, it will have been five years since her last (studio) one.
