I'm going to have to say (from favorite to least):
1. Scenes from a Memory
2. Images and Words
3. Live at the Marquee
4. Awake
5. Scenes from NY
6. When Dream and Day Unite
7. Falling Into Infinity
8. A Change of Seasons
9. Once in a Livetime
(but they're all excellent )

Tough choice, but I guess if forced to answer I would say "Images and Words". I was working in a record store when the first album came out. The boss and I played a promo copy and were blown away. So I actually ended up with "When Dream and Day Unite" the weekend before it actually hit the streets. Then the band seemed to disappear for a few years, only to finally reemerge with a better singer and even better material. So I guess my allegiance to Dream Theater goes WAY back.

Only ten more days till the new one! Based on the first two songs alone, its shaping up nicely as one of my favorites, and that's just the first cd of the two.

Spoilers: Elektra is finally spending money on the band, check out this e-card. Spoilers on the audio only:

For those with slower connections, its easier to save to your pc and then run it.

I'm one of those people that doesn't "get" Dream Theatre. I don't like them, but their music just doesn't click. Where's the option for "none"?

Hey Bus, your view is not uncommon, I've tried to turn many friends onto the Dream to no avail. I chalk it up to the fact that Dream Theater is extremely technical with more "things" going on than most can comprehend.

As a fledgling musician, I have always been in awe of this band. Images and Words will always be my favorite. Never before had I heard such a technically sound band drop minor chord riffs coupled with off the chart arpaggio solo's. The new album looks nice, wouldn't it be great if they teamed up with Danzig?

I simply cannot get into Dream Theater. I kind of dislike the lead singer's voice. I will admit that musically, they are incredible.
