I have 35. I'd live in England if I knew of a job there.

Ryan Adams, Ed Harcourt, NERD, Starsailor, Stereophonics
Spiritualized, Travis, White Stripes, The Strokes are
my favorites.

Ryan Adams - Gold
The jean genie lets himself go.

Air - 10,000 Hz Legend
Frenchmen invite you to experience chilled, but not easy listening.

The Avalanches - Since I Left You
Talent borrows, genius steals...

Basement Jaxx - Rooty
More hyper-kinetic hedonism, Brixton style.

The Charlatans - Wonderland
Career high from the artists formerly known as "baggy".

Daft Punk - Discovery
Enter the Gallic robots!

Dido - No Angel
This year's Portishead. And then some.

Bob Dylan - Love And Theft
Elderly gent grows spiv moustache and records second good album in a row.

Elbow - Asleep In The Back
Prog gets the bedsit blues.

Missy Elliott - Miss E... So Addictive
Sex and drugs and R&B...

Nelly Furtado - Whoa, Nelly!
Bird-like singer/songwriter gets airborne.

Gorillaz - Gorillaz
Looney tunes...

Ed Harcourt - Here Be Monsters
Mop-topped Brighton boho makes it big.

Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American
They played at Blink 182's drummer's wedding - but don't hold that against them.

Alicia Keys - Songs In A Minor
Tchaikovsky loving New Yorker gives R&B back its heart and soul.

Mercury Rev - All Is Dream
Symphonic rock and faux Disney tunes distinguish reformed upstate New Yorkers.

Mull Historical Society - Loss
If Brian Wilson had been from the Inner Hebrides...

Muse - Origin Of Symmetry
Prog goes the weasel.

N*E*R*D - In Search Of...
Backroom hotshots grab the spotlight.

OutKast - Stankonia
Day-glo Atlanta hip hop duo hit UK paydirt with their fourth album.

Radiohead - Amnesiac
Kid A's better-adjusted sibling.

R.E.M. - Reveal
Atlantans return - somehwat amazingly - singing of sugar and sunshine.

Semisonic - All About Chemistry
Adding sunshine to conventional guitar, bass and drums combo.

Spiritualized - Let It Come Down
Le Miserable: string sections and self-abuse on a scale the West End has never seen.

Starsailor - Love Is Here
First strike from Chorley's answer to Coldplay.

Stereophonics - Just Enough Education To Perform
"Meester Writer, why dontcha tell it like it really is?" OK...

The Strokes - Is This It
None--hyped New Yorkers' album debut.

Super Furry Animals - Rings Around The World
Inspired by the green, green grass of home.

Tool - Lateralus
The metal Radiohead's first big UK record.

Travis - The Invisible Band
They haven't blown it. Really.

Turin Brakes - The Optimist LP
New Simon & Garfunkel's charming first move.

Rufus Wainwright - Poses
Loudon III's boy makes his mark with second album.

Weezer - The Green Album
The nerds will have their revenge.

The White Stripes - White Blood Cells
Sounded like Royal Trux. Grabbed headlines like World War III.

Lucinda Williams - Essence
It takes a worried woman...

The problem with that then is that you'd end up seeing the likes of Starsailor in a place that holds 15,000 instead of at Bimbos in SF which holds maybe 700?

That is what I love about loving UK based bands, cos you see them in small venues in the US, I have seen both Oasis and Travis in clubs which hold about 200 people, the Travis show was great..

I have 14

Daft Punk - Discovery
Nelly Furtado - Whoa, Nelly!

I always used to do to this with NME's and Melody Maker's end of year list. I too am sure that I most probably have more in this top 50 then in the billboard top 100 or maybe even 200.
