Nevermind blew me away when it first came out. For the most part they lost me on subsequent releases, though.

I think In Utero is clearly what the group most-wanted to sound like. Raw and noisy, they are doing their best to sound like their influences.

And even if you fixed the awful production of Nevermind, I still think In Utero is a much better album.

Good poll.... tough choice though

I will choose In Utero... good production, raw and great songs. I don't think there is a bad Nirvana album though.

Nevermind and Bleach pretty close to being my favorites... I would probably put Nevermind 2nd, but couldn't argue with any of these 3 albums being put 1st

In Utero is Nirvana at their best IMO. Loud and raw with excellent tracks like Radio Friendly Unit Shifter, Scentless Apprentice but my favorite song from the band is easily Pennyroyal Tea.

In Utero is supposed to be the "real" sound of Nirvana. However, Nevermind was awesome when it came out and still it. Smells like Teen Spirit is bare none the best rock song of the 90's.

In Utero is my favorite album. Nevermind is a close second.

Althought I think all of Nirvana's albums rocked, I have to go with In Utero. It had my favorite tracks on it.. Heart-Shaped Box, Rape Me, Dumb etc

I liked In Utero the best, but they also had the best Unplugged ever, so I chose Unplugged.

Tough call. Favorite and best are not necessarily the same thing. Further complicating things is the fact that I don't really consider Unplugged or From The Muddy Banks... to be albums. They aren't meant to be. The are records, but not albums. Their best album without any doubt in my mind is In Utero, so that is the one that I voted for. Yet if I could only take one with me to a desert island, I wouldn't hesitate for an instant in grabbing Unplugged.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I'd really love to see you elaborate. It might become an interesting conversation. Or *lightbulb goes off inside 180's head* i could start a thread...
