Medieval nuns Alessandra (Alison Brie), Fernanda (Aubrey Plaza), and Ginevra (Kate Micucci) lead a simple life in their convent. Their days are spent chafing at monastic routine, spying on one another, and berating the estate's day laborer. After a particularly vicious insult session drives the peasant away, Father Tommasso (John C. Reilly) brings on new hired hand Massetto (Dave Franco), a virile young servant forced into hiding by his angry lord. Introduced to the sisters as a deaf-mute to discourage temptation, Massetto struggles to maintain his cover as the repressed nunnery erupts in a whirlwind of pansexual horniness, substance abuse, and wicked revelry.

I caught this today at a local art house theater. It was fairly amusing. A few laugh-out-loud moments. The cast seemed to be having a good time. Kate Micucci really goes all out. I wouldn't mind spending time with these nuns.

This is streaming on Amazon Prime Video now. Man it's a weird film. A few funny bits. Not great but at least it's brief.

It's weird, I'm glad this movie exists but yeah, probably won't rewatch it.

I just saw this and enjoyed it immensely. Of course, like any concept comedy, the laughs mostly run out after the novelty wears off. But luckily it does not overstay its welcome. I hadn't seen the red band trailer posted above, and I'm glad I didn't because I was not at all expecting the kind of dialogue you get in this movie, so that provided a real belly laugh. And Dave Franco's confession scene (also in the trailer) was comedy gold.
