Yeah, but at least Cap gets to roger Peggy's grand-niece.

Now that would be a cool story arc. Bang the great aunt, then 5 decades later bang the grand niece.

Today or Friday...WW will become the highest grossing movie in USA/Canada, International is numbers still have a long way to go.

Funny thing...DC/WB decided to NOT do another WW Animated movie because it did not sell enough, even though it is at least in the top 5 of DVD/BR selling.

Now, WW is the #1 Live action movie.

Yes, it is DC #1 Live Action Movie.

But, DC also has an Animated Movie series that they put out on DVD/BR.
-WW is the 4 or 5 best selling of all the 30 movies they have put out.

But, DC decided NOT to do a sequel to the Animated WW Movie because they said "It did not sell enough"...which was a lie or something, us fans have always been baffled by this.

WW Live Action has once again proven DC/WB wrong.

To be clear, it'll be the #1 domestic grossing "DC Extended Universe" movie. The #1 DC live action movie domestically is still The Dark Knight with $534 million, and likely will be for a long time:

In terms of worldwide gross, it's about to pass Man of Steel, but still behind Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman, the latter by a few hundred million.

And both The Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises surpassed $1 billion in worldwide gross:

Wonder Woman is doing great domestically, and is undoubtedly a hit that will generate sequels and hopefully inspire more woman superhero films, but it's not the biggest DC hit ever.

Correct, I should have made that distinction.

Loved WW, but it is no where near TDK in both Boxoffice and Quality.

So was the end of this thing reshot or what? Really liked it until the end. What a mess.

It was a solid showing in both and showed WB may have the ingredients yet to correct course and prevent a rapid death spiral on DCEU.

I'm in the minority, but I really had no major issues with it.

And no, I don't think it was reshot.

Speaking of reshoots, the part with the horse in the mud was part of additional photography when Gadot was pregnant. They had to use screen screen for her belly.

I didn't know the ending had any detractors. I had no issues with it other than seeing Ares porn-stache through the helmet.

Re: Wonder Woman (Jenkins, 2017) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

She breaks into an airbase, kills several guards, reaches that watchtower and kills the highest general in the German army, and there's all this time to have a lengthy, involved debate with Guy Named Chris. It's way too talky. They talk forever. Where is the enemy? And we know it's not over. We don't want to be listening to all this talk. We're anticipating the action that we know is coming. Then the real badguy arrives.

These battles between immortals are never exciting. Nothing can hurt either of them so it's rather dull and we know who is going to win. So she waves goodbye to the hero who is going to sacrifice himself. And then five minutes later there's a flashback to the same farewell. What sloppy construction. We already know that she's seen the good in man. We know she's felt the love and heart in man. The flashback and all the dialogue in it is unnecessary. And/or the dialogue could have been included the first time around. The flashback structure adds nothing.

The earlier parts of the film contain much less of this sort of unsuspensful action and implausible contrivances.

Really? That's the big flaw numerous people had with it...

Just saw this and it was fun. It was good that they left out Aries from the marketing, because I thought it would just be Huston's and Dr. Poison's character left to fight. The reveal was surprising.

I didn't care for some of the effects -- one that bothered me was when Diana, as a little girl, falls and I think Robin Wright or her mother catches her -- the green screen was awful. There are bits of that throughout. I did like the design work and it felt right out out of WWI. It reminded me of The Rocketeer.

I will definitely be getting the BD.

Spoiler, Spider-man is going to win. Iron Man is going to win. Captain America is going to win. Thor is going to win. Batman is going to win. Superman is going...wait.

Being immortal has nothing to do with it. It's a superhero movie, the hero is going to win 100% of the time.

Yeah, so they should get on with it. Making the battle last for ten minutes is dull.

Indeed. This is why superhero movies need to have other drama going on. The last fight/climax was never the best part of a Marvel movie. Nolan's Batman did a good job at making the climax memorable. In MCU movies, it's perfunctory.

Frankly, the DCU has more to do before it's even part of the conversation. Wonder Woman was their first real win.

I don't know anything about this kind of stuff, but my friend said that many of the weapons and uniforms in the film were not accurate to the time period and were actually WWII vintage, and that it bugged him for the whole movie.

Is he the same guy who is (was?) around here who had a knife fetish?

As for the authenticity, doubt 99% of the audience cared/noticed.

The also use "intel" here, a term that didn't exist in WWI (nor in WWII either).

No, he's never been on this board.

And agreed on the second point

If that's true, I find it odd that they didn't attempt to get it right. You spend $100M or $200M, and you can't hire a pro who can oversee the WWI designs?

Just because someone said it's not accurate doesn't mean they are right. How about some specific examples.

Re: Wonder Woman (Jenkins, 2017) — The Spoiler Filled Reviews Thread

He was listing off stuff to me, but I can't recite it all back to you. I'm no war buff.

One thing that I believe he said was that many German uniforms were from WWII and not WWI.

But again, this is me trying to regurgitate what my friend told me, and I neither know nor care about the accuracy and most of what he said went in one ear and out the other.

EDIT: This site seems to support that claim, at least in the case of Ludendorf:

https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbi...omedy-of-eras/

WRONG UNIFORM: General Ludendorf is wearing the longer, three-pronged collar tabs of a WW2 Field Marshall

The design was only used after 1941
