I'll start off with the usual "I did a search....." so please merge or delete this thread as you see fit.
I can't post and trailers or vids as I'm not working from home today.
This was a pretty decent flick - nice and gory with a lot of nods to John Carpenters "The Thing" but also with some originality of its own.

I saw this about a week or so ago. I enjoyed it. Good ol' Canadian-made horror Best to go into it not knowing or expecting too much.
As I understand it, all (or nearly all) of the effects are practical, not CG. In that regard, it looks phenomenal.

Cool visual FX but it was little more than a pastiche of far better films. So many ripped off scenes. And there wasn't a single great actor among the bunch, save for the two vets they were able to secure.

I wonder if Stuckmann realizes how much credibility he loses before people even hit play on his videos with his dumbass expressions.
I'm not saying you have to look and act like Ben Stein but you don't have to look like a douche either.

I'm not a fan of his reviews, the few of which I've watched I generally found to be pretty bland, but if it's working for him and his fans, good for him. I think of him as the Jay Leno of YouTube film reviewers. There's probably no accuracy to that statement, but it sounded funny in my head, so I wanted to write it out.
And he's gained another 17 subscribers between our replies. He'll be at a million, by.. umm... soon.
Anyway, The Void is good. It's on Vudu, so you don't even have to leave your house to see it. I suggest watching it in the dark on a big TV though. Not on a phone or laptop.
Oh, and then track down The Editor. The guys who made The Void are part of the same collective that made The Editor. That one's intentionally funny and an homage to Italian giallo horror flicks.

If I had never seen Prince of Darkness, Hellraiser, or The Beyond, I would have probably loved this. But I have seen those movies. Many times. Show me something new.

Rented this via Amazon Video a week or so ago.
I enjoyed it, warts and all. Characterizations were spotty but I was never bored, as the film has some fun ideas and is always visually interesting.

I liked it, very goopy 80's horror throwback. I might have explained it a little more and gone with a different actor for the lead though. (Very Hellraiser 2)
