Yes, because a third Escape Plan is the type of film to get ahead of themselves on and greenlight before the first sequel is even out.

Unless it was already a pre-packeegd deal. Part 2 is budgeted at 20 million, so throwing in a 3rd for an other 20 million (assuming that's the budget) may be a sweeter deal.

The plot for the third film will follow Stallone and Bautista and will center on how "the daughter of a Hong Kong tech executive goes missing in what appears to be a routine ransom job. As Breslin (Stallone) and his crew delve deeper, they discover the culprit is the deranged son of one of their former foes, who also kidnapped Breslin’s love and is holding her inside the massive prison known as Devil’s Station."

I thought Miller was going to direct part 3, but looks like Stallone's pal John Herzfeld (Two Days In The Valley, Reach Me) is directing.

Yeah, at first I read the thread title as was like "there's an Escape Plan 2?" I see now that no, there was not (released yet anyway).

I really doubt that Escape Plan 2 and 3 get big theatrical pushes here in the States, These were obviously made to cater to the foreign markets who still think Stallone is an A-list action star.
These will probably get limited run, VOD releases via Lionsgate Premiere and shortly afterwards end up on BD,

Never got around to seeing the sequel yet. The first is one of my favorites for a modern film starring both Schwarzenegger and Stallone.

The second one was really bad. I can't imagine the third will be any better, but I'm a Stallone fan so I'll check it out.

I have fond memories of DTV action movies from the 80's and 90's. That's why I'll watch this.
I do crave more expensive action escapism films. I guess we have Bad Boys 3 coming up. The action films getting made are centered around sci-fi and comic books.
Can't we just have like one True Lies or Con Air per year? I miss that feeling where you finish a movie, jacked up on good feelings.

Nah, I liked this first movie, meh on the second one. Besides, at the rate you all talk up those two I mentioned, it’s par for the course. Regarding this, I won’t get my hopes up, but I’ll probably see it...

Saw this the other day and it was a step up from the second one if only for the fact Stallone's character was central to the plot. He was more of a supporting player in the previous installment.

This one was fun as hell and Stallone makes an appearance in the audio commentary track along with a featurette.
