They ran a tv spot for this on something (Walking Dead or SNL?) and I was rather surprised about some of the stuff left in the tv spot. Blood spatter, the level of violence, etc. were all things I thought earned you a red band.

I like this new trailer more than the first trailer. It looks wick-ed.
Might actually check this out in a theater if it gets enough decent reviews.

After the initial spat of negative reviews, its evened out a little to 76%, but it still has a long way to go.

This movie already out overseas? Wondering how it already has reviews posted. If this movie has all of the 80s music mixes in it used in the previews, I'll see it on that alone. Isn't this set during the Reagan era? Noticed the budget is only $30 million, so if it doesn't blow too much on marketing it could make that money back in a few weeks . Explains why they felt comfortable going with the R rating.

That looked really fucking kick-ass. I love Charlize like that. Love they make no bones about her being a Lesbian. Whenever I see McAvoy in these types of movies, I always yearn for another Wanted chapter...

Lesbian? She's bi-sexual, at the very least, in the film. It shows she was in a relationship with the operative they killed. Her banging Boutella is part of the gig.

Just saw this. If your thinking John Wick, think again.
Though the action sequences were fantastic and brutal, this really is a Cold War spy thriller set in Germany just before the fall of the wall.
The music of the time period is all over this move and in some scenes really adds to what is going on on the screen.
They introduce a lot of characters early and fast and it took awhile to get all the players but once I did it all made sense.
4 out of five for me. Loved it

This is definitely not the non stop action that the John Wick movies are, but it's still pretty good. I was reminded of Haywire while watching this, especially the fight scenes. No music, alot of improvisation and using the objects and environment to help you in fights, etc.
Really dug the 80's soundtrack.
I thought the final reveal
I'm also getting alittle tired of the blue filter applied to these kind of movies. We get it, it's cold and dreary.
Other than that, I liked it quite a bit. Charlize Theron was great, the quick lesbian sex scene was pretty hot, great action, good humor, and great cast. More effort was put into the story than I was expecting.
Give this 4 stars out of 5.

Re: Atomic Blonde (2017, D: Leitch) S: Theron, McAvoy, Goodman
Charlize is great, as is McAvoy but the plotting and the way the story unfolds was horrible for me. Some reveals come too early, others are very telegraphed and come too late. The whole McGuffin of the film didn't have any urgency. It has some nice action scenes, especially a 'Children of Men'-esque one about an hour and 20 into it, good style and a fun soundtrack but I was left cold.
I was bored for too much of it - having Charlize look sexy in cool lighting only goes so far - needed a better (less familiar) plot and some more characterization would have gone a long way to making me more invested. I honestly think I may have been more forgiving of the 'style over substance' aspect of it if I had seen it before John Wick 2 and Baby Driver...but on the heels of those better films with similar goals, I just wasn't feeling this one. 2.5/5
