Wow, 2 hours and 2 minutes. The 1st movie was only 101 minutes.
I'll probably try to see it on Friday after I get off from work. Hopefully it's just fun, badass mayhem.

Two full hours of John Wick goodness. This made me so happy. It's an epic that expands the world of John Wick and the ambitious action that made the original stand out in the first place.

Yeah, they're expecting $20m for this, $35m for Fifty Shades, and $65m for Batman. I wouldn't be surprised if this opens closer to $40m or $50m, but that may just be my own anticipation talking.

Reviews Counted: 24
Fresh: 23
Rotten: 1
Critics Consensus: John Wick: Chapter 2 does what a sequel should -- which in this case means doubling down on the non-stop, thrillingly choreographed action that made its predecessor so much fun.

I am looking forward to this more than the big tentpole sequels coming out this summer. Hearing the great reviews is amping me up!

Most of the critics seem to be claiming it's more of an "Expansion" than a "True Sequel" which I assume means it's more like how Two Towers is a sequel to Fellowship of the Ring than Ghostbusters II is to Ghostbusters I.
Whatever it is, I hope this has a huge box office and we get several more entries while Reeves is still moving like a champ. (He's 52 now, so plenty of time hopefully)

Hmm I guess that makes sense. As long as it isn't as snoozy as Raid 2 I'll be happy. The mix of gun fu and the world building were the two best aspects of the original, so I'm glad to hear they went that direction.

I remember the first one. It got great reviews as well but couldn't get a decent opening weekend because it came out against something aimed at teeny boppers ( I think it was Ouija) . This one is also getting good notices , and while I doubt it's the same target audience as Lego Batman, I think many men will opt for the 8% on RT 50 Shades Darker for the promise of p%ssy.

Really enjoyed the sequel, definitely builds more on "the world". The unique looking captions are back, always liked those. Baba Yaga!
