This has potential. Looks to have also been made on the cheaper side of things by Amazon Studios and Roadside Attractions.

Looks okay. Like Sniper with Berenger and the Zane, but in the desert. I'll check it out when it hits Amazon.

Not just that - it's seems contained within that area only, with a 360 degree vantage point.

My son is a huge wrestling fan and he is in to "modern war" films. I can guess I am going to get drug along to see this ... And I probably won't mind. Looks like an interesting psychological film and I've liked most of Liman's work.

Release date?

EDIT: looked it up, March 10, 2017.

Re: The Wall (2017, Doug Liman) S: John Cena, Aaron Taylor-Johnson

The Wall is a deadly psychological thriller that follows two soldiers pinned down by an Iraqi sniper, with nothing but a crumbling wall between them. Their fight becomes as much a battle of will and wits as it is of lethally accurate marksmanship. Directed by Doug Liman (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, "The Bourne Ultimatum," "Edge of Tomorrow"), "The Wall" stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson ("Nocturnal Animals," "Kick-Ass," "Savages" "Godzilla," "Avengers: Age of Ultron") and WWE star John Cena ("Trainwreck," "Daddy's Home"), "The Wall" is written by first-time screenwriter Dwain Worrell. "The Wall," produced and distributed by Amazon Studios, landed on the 2014 Black List.
This comes out this weekend. Reviews are mixed: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_wall_2017

This is playing at my local ArcLight. Tons of showings due to the 80 minute runtime.

There’s something quite commendable about the minimalist nature of The Wall. Seeing director Doug Liman come down from films such as Edge of Tomorrow Live. Die. Repeat. and Jumper for a claustrophobic thriller may or may not just be something of a stylistic exercise in between Tom Cruise adventures, but it is certainly entertaining. Armed with one desert local, minimal production design, two actors and a disembodied voice, here’s a film that manages to stretch a simple premise into pulpy cat and mouse game. Hiding a genre film under the guise of a war movie makes it all the more intriguing.

Just watched this and boy is it a frustrating and bleak film. The technical merits are strong as are the performances, but let's just say the story didn't unfold the way I wanted it to.

It's a fucked up movie.

Overall it was enjoyable. It could have been trimmed by another 15 minutes and nothing would have been lost. The ending was predictable though, I don't really see another way of ending it that would have felt the same after watching everything else go down. It wasn't exactly an uplifting movie.
